As a 49er fan, that lighting issue has been a gripe of mine for awhile. I can't recall the last time (if ever) it was possible to replicate these lighting conditions in Madden:

MLB: San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics (Sell The Damn Team, Fisher!)
    NFL: San Francisco 49ers
    NHL: San Jose Sharks
    MLS: San Jose Earthquakes
    EPL: Brentford FC

      Re: The Immersion Breakers thread

I could go on for awhile but here's a few things:

      1. There is a huge lack of plays that result in 0 or negative yards. Madden has this weird thing where 95% of the time the offense is gaining yards. It's pretty much guaranteed that you convert on any short yardage situation (especially now with the new reach animations that are rarely able to be gang tackled out of). Offense on every difficulty and slider setting is easier than defense, even when you have a great defensive team. The game is built on scoring a lot of points and always gaining a lot of yards. Whereas irl there are only a handful of teams who can score at will. It may come as a shock to some people but it is actually extremely tough to move the ball in a game of football, let alone in the NFL. Our online CFM with 32 users (mainly because of recent updates which made offense even easier somehow), there are way too many teams scoring 30+ppg. And we have sliders with the most difficult adjustments to make offense tougher.

      2. Inaccurate passes seem to always be directed at the nearest defender, which usually result in picks depending on the sliders, instead of just being able to be dead passes. It's like they need every play to have some sort of interaction with the ball when that's not really the case irl. If sliders actually worked properly maybe that would help.

      3. Every player is connected on a string. It's why man coverage is OP every season. Instead of defenders reading and reacting to the offense, they already have slide into position as if they knew the play. You could have a defender cross-man a WR on the other side of the field and the defender will literally run directly to the spot that WR needs to go to before the WR gets there himself. This is why games seem so repetitive and plays always look the same. All this plus animations running the entire game ruins immersion. It just doesn't look or really feel like real football.

I could go on forever but there still is so much work that is needed to make this game play even remotely well. CFM is so lackluster I don't need to get into that for immersion breakers.

Next gen I can play a game or 2 against the CPU every few weeks so that's a big step up since I basically vowed never to play the CPU again prior to next gen coming out. So that's cool

The crappy gameplay aside, the fact that I can't edit shoe colors kills it for me. Mostert and Deebo wear white shoes a lot and the only way to get white shoes on them is use the bulky looking Nike Field General, or changing the entire teams shoes when I pick my unis. Maybe I'm just being petty, but compared to NBA 2K, or even The Show, the lack of customization kills it for me. I want my video game characters to accurately depict their real world counterparts. Madden does an embarrassing job.

            Coordinator conversations in cfm.

Also, if playing CPU VS CPU the way the programming controls stats. RB runs off tackle and gets to open field but makes a juke, turn in (where players are) instead of continuing outside the numbers (OPEN FIELD) for extra yards. Many others, but basic idea.

When watching cpu vs cpu or in Coach mode (at least), cut scene shows wrong huddle...like if defense is on field they show offense in huddle and vice versa.

Also, in cpu vs cpu, cut scenes after a score - you have to watch a full 30 second or more panning of camera on field and into huddles before kickoff. You cannot move to next play by pressing any buttons.

Seeing defensive players celebrate after giving up TDs. Offensive players celebrating after turnovers too.
Why do the defensive players get stuck into an animation like that?

As for as the nonsensical celebrations, the players are celebrating because they're getting some cold cuts like Ickey Woods after the game lol!

They have carry over code from NCAA I think...on a fumble most of the time the guy recovering the ball on the ground will not be touched by anyone and he does not get up and run. They just blow the play dead. College rule that should not be in an NFL game.

i think the ball can only be advanced in the last 4 minutes of a half on a fumble recovery. That rule may only apply to offense though.

Similar to that I sometime dive in front of a receiver and intercept a pass and roll onto the ground, untouched and get called down when I should have been able to get up and run with it still. It's aggravating.

As a franchise player the biggest immersion breaker for me has always been ridiculous moves by the cpu. Signing a big free agent QB after literally resigning their franchise QB earlier in the off-season. Unrealistic trades is another one that makes me crazy. I could go on and on but pretty much everything related to cfm at this point is immersion breaking.

Nothing like every team in the NFL signing a FB to their roster or spending premium draft picks trading for one. Just because of the roster logic that applies to CPU's. Not sure if that is relevant in Madden 21, but Madden 20 and older it has persisted for years.

A 1-14 Bengals with a full stadium of fans jumping up and down breaks it for me.

It’s a shame the NFL demands they don’t have dynamic attendance (not the EA would do it right).

Personally I feel it’s gaslighting by the NFL. They absolutely want people to believe that every ticket is sold and every group of fans are a rabid bunch of idealistic diverse fanatics wearing $80 jerseys.

Probably a lot more to do with less situations for the programmers to worry about.

They need to fix the time of day lighting. MLB The Show has this down perfect. A 4:15 game should be completely night by the start of the 2nd quarter. A 1:00 game should be dusk as they're showing the final score. And what about the Bears, Chiefs, and Packers? They play at noon and 3:15. Or the west coast teams never play at 4:15 local time?

As I said, MLB The Show has this down perfect. Madden seems to have this set as if the games were taking place in the summer, not the fall and winter.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!
