Traded a message with the @EAHelp account this morning, and it sounds like they have NO idea why this is happening, but it's being looked into according to them. Until then, they recommended avoiding Slow Sim entirely. Will keep you posted if I hear anything else.

On default all pro, slow sim plays pretty good, but it’s like the home team always has an advantage.

Yaaa i cant even get into playing madden when i worry that it will crash after i exit a game.. sometimes when i load up a saved file the date says 1-1-1 and then it crashes

im thinking of maybe like saving it after i tinker on something, back out to main menu of madden, go to load franchise back up, and once it has the actual date then ill go try it, it seems to act up when i load it up and the date on the file says 1/1/1

but one time it showed the actual date 9/8/20 and it worked..

This is buried deep in the Gridiron notes for today's patch:

- Fixed an issue with Slow Sim for PS4 users

While the description isn't very specific, it's pretty likely that this fixes the endgame crash since it appeared to be a PS4 only bug (or at least I never saw it reported on XBOX, and I can personally attest to not seeing it on PC).

Downloading the patch now, will check to see if it's fixed.

Thank you for seeing this. I missed it. Huge fix for me. My biggest problem with the game. I’m good to go if this is fixed.

PS4: Although I did get sent back to the main menu after a week 1 Browns/Ravens Online franchise game, it DID NOT CRASH for the first time when watching the whole game on Slow supersim. It also recorded the result for the first time.

Getting dropped back to the main menu could have just been a temporary connection loss on my end - that happened sometimes on games I played out in full.

Can confirm this is also fixed for me. Slow simmed all defense, played all offense, and everything was normal in my Cloud franchise. Super excited, glad they were able to squash this one.

I am seeing this issue as well. Happened twice on an Offline Franchise post-patch

Yep. Some other guys tested it in my cpu/cpu slider thread and the old ways of being not connected to internet or quitting the game at the end and starting the game again and watching the last play still works. Unbelievable that this reared it’s ugly head again. Very annoying issue that took them forever to fix the first time. Patches have been horrible this year. Last patch made it to where it knocked you off the servers.

I understand that this may be an inconvenience and a complete lack of attention to detail on EA’s part but truthfully - I don’t understand the reasoning in having the internet always connected to the game system anyway other than for updates and downloads - I know we shouldn’t have to create the fix but if this is all it takes on my end - I’m good with that

In past years I’d agree. The game played better offline with 19 and 20. But this year, it’s playing better online while using the Live Playbooks. I’ve got a 2 controller workaround for cfm. Just plays way more realistic. I’ve tried it both ways.

I was not having this issue until this patch, now my game has an error at end of game. How the heck have they managed to make my game worse with the patch?

So ..help me here ..I need to physically unplug my cable from my PS4 so it doesn’t crash after a game in Franchise?

Yes, just be disconnected from the internet. You have to do this before you launch the game or it will still crash.
