I don't think the majority of Madden players care about presentation. I agree they could do better for those that value it, but EA probably has data that shows the amount of people mashing the buttons to get to the gameplay and it'd probably still be the case even if it was hugely improved.

Re: Think EA Needs Two Separate Presentation Models
More presentation models are always a good thing.
However when it comes to splitting it into 2 games this is where I have an issue even though I am a franchise player. This same topic comes up in other games as well. Make the ultimate team versions and franchise games different.
But here is the problem... What happens when people play both? I now have to buy 2 games when I used to have to buy just one. What if I like both? Suddenly it is a rip off for me because I have to buy 2 instead of one .
The splitting games topic honestly has no merit to it whatsoever and should never be an option for the game.
Don't get me wrong, I definitely think there are needed improvements in franchise but why buy 2 games when I get what I want in one?Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: Think EA Needs Two Separate Presentation Models
My main point though was that there are plenty that enjoy both, likely a silent majority, who would not like it because they like both. So splitting up would be a bad decision and anger that silent majority that is the big chunk of their sales. EA likely has numbers that say a huge chunk of people play both but this is just a guess on my part.Funkycorm

They already have a quick presentation mode in MUT...why not let franchise users use this option as well?Comment

Think EA Needs Two Separate Presentation Models
It would bring back a lot of diehards, but the question I ask myself is how many younger gamers would they attract by improving these aspects of the game? Do they even understand what they are potentially missing? It’s been a really long time since an NFL game had a real authentic NFL presentation experience. A lot of people say they skip the presentation, or broadcast elements, but Madden has never been good at it in the first place. Ever. Everyone skips it, because it’s not good. Even the guys who like presentation skip it. So comparing it to past Maddens is not really a good way to determine if it’s important enough to improve on.
When I played 2K5 I always, always watched the weekly sports center show at the end of every week. I never got sick of it. It gave you all the scores and current standings, key stats, and also talked about playoff picture, big trades, and college prospects. I literally knew everything about my league without having to dig through menus. If it’s done correctly it adds so much immersion and becomes less “skippable”. I think a lot of die hard madden gamers don’t understand what they are missing and why the always say.... “meh I just skip it”. Madden has always been geared towards a community who only care about button mashing to get to the next play and not appreciate the experience the game could potentially bring to the player.

I think if Madden gave us a true broadcast such as Monday night football from ESPN or Thursday night football from NFL Network more people would watch it. They don’t need to have that in exhibition/mut/head to head. Just have it in franchise mode for those who want real immersion into a living league.Comment

Re: Think EA Needs Two Separate Presentation Models
Why would EA ever make MUT free to play when MUT players are more than happy to fork over $100 for pre order editions just get the game 3 days early plus a small amount of VC?
Giving away millions in revenue for no reason at all doesn't sound like a good business model to me.Comment

Re: Think EA Needs Two Separate Presentation Models
Why would CoD do it? You do it to get more players feet in the door, that aren’t put behind a $60 entrance fee. You make it cross platform, and then make your money on the micro transactions of the millions of additional players you added, that want to be competitive. Activison has claimed almost $2B in revenue, in Q2, doing it, spearheaded by Warzone. They had something like 60 million players. They were making over $3M a day from it! I could easily see Madden following suit.
Its a grind to get a solid team, but once you figure out the card game, play for free is easy.
I do relate to the adults that pay to play. Time is money. I value my time FAR more than I value a buck. If my choice is grind for 100 hours, or pay $100.. its not even a choice for me.
I wouldn't care if they made franchise pay to play, so long as they had worthwhile content. If that's what it takes to get them interested, FINE! Do it.You want free speech?
Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours.Comment

Re: Think EA Needs Two Separate Presentation Models
After a whole week of patches, yes, we truly need separate games. Every patch is a mixed bag of whatever codes and modes whomever could get to, and they aren't fixes at all because they just highlight or create other glitches.
Separate games equals separate modes/codes equals separate teams working on separate patches.(...brought to you by Carl's Jr.)Comment
