Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever. -

They are adding it in because Nickelodian is going to be simucasting a Wild Card Round in a kid-friendly format. If kids see that, and they like it, they'll likely want the game, especially since spongebob or some spongebob related stuff will end up in Madden.
I personally don't mind and think it's a great idea for them to do something like that. Yes, Madden is crappy but then again, I don't spend my money on it anymore nor all my life complaining how bad it is, so there ya go.Comment

Resources are finite. This is always something to take personal when sim fans are given scraps compared to other fanbases. Literally added a bunch of new arcadey modes while ignoring franchise.Comment

Re: SpongeBob is coming to Madden 21... sadly this is not a joke
Just for fun, if SpongeBob is a player, he's of course gotta be a SSXF.
I'm gunning for the "Sponge" ability, which, when SpongeBob is in the zone, allows him to absorb the first hit and bounce right back, effectively nullifying the first tackle attempt.
I'm also thinking a SS ability could be the a special "Jump Cut" ability that would allow SpongeBob to do steerable jukes at sharp 90 degree angles, like, say, one perfectly lateral cut and then an ability to accelerate instantly forward, with the added ability to stack on another perfectly lateral jump cut and then a reverse jump cut, completing the shape of a square and making pursuit and tackling very challenging.
Just spitballing here...

The NFL is as much to blame as the execs at EA for the current state of Madden. The fact they would give the exclusive simulation licence to EA and allow them to put crap like this in the game instead of fixing simulation areas shows where their mindset is as well. Let's not forget that they actively restrict features from being in the game if they are concerned it will impact their imageComment

Adding Spongbob sucks!!! Now if they end up adding The Uso's, Drew McIntyre and the New Day to Superstar KO, my 6 y/o son will be down with it!!"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

It would be great if there were more Jerry Joneses, that truly cared about matters like these. There are more Mike Browns and Dean Spanoses, just out for a buck. Thats unfortunate. For us.
In the end, I don't see the NFL as the thing that is holding this game back from being great. I wish they were more invested, and used this as a tool to grow their brand. But they haven't had to worry about that issue for the last 30 years. You want free speech?
