I have no idea who Maddens target audience is. What does the yard or spongebob and whatever else new they included have to do with football. Can't they just make separate games for all this nonsense? What 2k is doing over there makes this look like a kids game. AJAComment

Unreal... The way this game has been handled... from Kaepernick to Giannis to this... They will do anything they can to reach the casual crowd and they don't care at all about fixing the massive bugs in the game or improving it. Marketing rules the day at EA.
This whole cycle with M21 screams "we're terrified of the 2K non-sim game so we're going to take our 'sim' game and make it a kiddy mess that appeals to non-football people." What a joke.

I *HIGHLY* doubt they lost $$ this year, even with the pandemic.

If their focus is gaining 4 year olds attention to Madden then something is wrong here. There’s nothing wrong with going after a variety of audiences. But the focus of the only simulation football game on the market should be simulation football and it is LITERALLY everything but that.Comment

Spongebob is over 20 years old. Kids that grew up watching it are now video game playing adults.Comment

How many of us "grew up" on Madden? I would say that phrase applies to the majority of the fanbase.
And they're going to have to mine for new audiences, the direction this game is headed. You want free speech?

While I can completely agree with your sentiment regarding Can you blame them?. I will maintain that as long as EA has football simulation a football simulation license and a fan base of older and younger generation that love the direction they are going in they wont ever have to worry about mining a audience. They have a guaranteed base every year regardless of the content of the product. Now if 2k comes in and starts getting that non simulation audience, or another company goes all out and makes a straight simulation game like they are doing in boxing videogames, there might be a problem. While I'm not confident of either happening that's the only way I can see EA having to mine for an audience. But like everything else in life there comes a tipping point where frustration will lead to innovation and someone will corner one of those two markets. I could care less about a Sponge Bob but I can get the frustration from a purely optics perspective. As always it is what it is!!!THANKS FOR THE TRADE SANDIEGO KEEP RIVERS WE'LL TAKE ELIComment
