IMO they messed with it and made it feel somewhere between last gen and what they had now on nex gen! I’ve only played a few games online and it just felt faster for some reason

Running Strong Close PA Scissors versus Nickel Cover 3 Match, the flag route is wide open with the outside CB completely missing the presence of the flag receiver. CB just continues to drop deep with back towards threat.

Idk if I’m going blind, but I can’t see if it impacts current franchises? I’d assume the zone coverage patch would but I’m unsure about the franchise ones.

I generally like the idea as a means to increase difficulty, but there's some wonkiness with this:

          - if you try to audible to a play that is locked or on cooldown, literally nothing happens
          - you cannot configure offensive and defensive cooldown / limits separately

The first is obviously just bad UX. I hope that gets cleaned up.

The second wouldn't be a huge issue if the defenses which effectively guard weakside trips sets (Gun Trips TE, Gun Trio TE, Singleback Trio, etc.) weren't so limited. Basically the only formations I can think of in the game which allow playing under fronts vs weakside trips are 34 Predator, 34 Under, and Nickel Triple. So you'll burn through your plays in those sets fast if your opponent likes to run the ever-popular Gun Trips TE - Read Option stuff. In general, if you prefer to play match coverages vs trips (as I do), you're also going to burn through your Palms and Cover 6 calls fast with these options (Cover 3 Mable / Skate is still not in the game, and Cover 4 Quarters Solo check is as far as I know still AWOL). Not a problem with the feature itself as much as an issue emergent from the limitations on defense currently present in Madden.
Offense and defense need to be separate. This needs to be pushed to devs.

Seems the same to me.. funny you mention PI as there was one called when a Lions DB pulled on Ridley in my game.

Hopefully it doesn’t break other movement or speed because it’s perfect on next gen. But backpedaling awareness tracking etc I hope get love in this patch. Thanks!!
I got to play two games this morning in H2H against fairly solid users and I have to say I thought the secondary reactions were much improved. 4 picks and 5 picks for me through both of those games, against routes that were much more open pre-patch.

Ran a quick test last night, starting at the Play Now option for the playoffs. Dallas, who had tagged Dak at $36.6 million, drafted Zach Wilson in the 1st round. So much for that.

Now no one knows what sliders should be. I guess I’ll start playing in All Pro again and work my way up.

played one game and so far coverage is much better. I had 3 sacks which is 2 more than usual lol.

CPU didnt have any of those "should be intentional grounding" throw aways. The QB didn't rush but he did an excellent job of moving away from pressure.

That's a great sign. I've been wondering for awhile why CPU seems to have a free pass on throw aways to get them near a WR to avoid a penalty, but we don't have that option.

Too much of the gameplay is tethered together as it is. EA doesn’t know how to do things any other way. If the offense and defense would act independently of one another so many issues would be cleared up.

What about the CPU drafting a FB in the first round if u dont have one on the team, also seems to happen if draft board isnt set.

The particular problem only existed on next gen. Trust me. The fixes to zone coverage probably bring next gen back in line with current gen. In other words it's not an improvement for only next gen. It's a fix for something broken that current gen didn't have broken. Make sense?
