Re: Any Updates/Patches On The Way?
That would be 3 weeks of an unplayable game. That's crazy. And really should be a crime. Franchise is completely unplayable for offline user and which they admitted was a huge crowd of people.Comment

Probably the week 1 roster yes. They aren't going to tell us we have to wait two whole weeks for a patch. That will cause more uproar. They usually say as soon as possible we are working on it.Comment

Re: Any Updates/Patches On The Way?
I know everyone is arguing on both points here on a business/consumer level but let me say this. I work in a large Hospital on the Server Team. If we come out with a new clinical software to use where it's developed within but purchased through a vendor, before it goes live, we go through hard hitting QA to ensure if any bugs and glitches that occur, it's very minimal. We're talking miniscule stuff.
We work tirelessly trying to cause bugs and glitches around the clock. It's a team effort. We have people from Clinical Informatics to App Development Team to regular techs hitting this hard.
Once it gets deployed and it goes live, we get real time feedback with a turnaround of a week to get them addressed. According to our metrics, it's always gone well and those major issues get addressed stat that day or night.
Madden Team could learn from our IT Team. We'll even provide them the workflow. But I guess we also got to take in consideration I work in a hospital. EA is a business where people buy no matter what and i'm guilty of that. Maybe i've learned my lesson in purchasing day one going forward. I been constantly experiencing crashing issues on my Xbox One X playing Madden and this may be detrimental to the system, but of course that stuff will get swept under the rug.
And before all you Madden die-hards go down the road about "it's just a game", Madden....just Madden...makes 3 times the revenue as the small fish pharmaceutical company I work for. It would take almost a decade for us to realize the revenues that EA makes on it's ultimate team modes in ONE year.
In my 50's now and started taking blood pressure medicine. I'm sure as hell glad EA and the Madden staff doesn't make it. I'd hate for my medication to be knowingly flawed OOTB and have to wait for multiple patches to fix it. Every. Damn. Year.Comment

Re: Any Updates/Patches On The Way?
I'm lucky I don't have the score bug. Thankfully, the bug I have doesn't even allow me to complete a game so I have no issue with my scores being zeroed out! Damn it feels good to be one of the lucky ones.Comment

Though, in the past we have been told franchise still remains the most played mode by a good margin.

Re: Any Updates/Patches On The Way?
Was there any mention of the issue where just sitting in the franchise menus for several minutes always results in the game crashing? From what I’ve read and experienced it seems to be mostly an Xbox series X issue. When the game crashes it kicks you out to the Xbox dashboard or the system shuts off entirely. That’s the particular bug I’m hoping to see fixed so I can actually play franchise mode, only able to play exhibition currently (not a fan of MUT). Thanks.Comment

Re: Any Updates/Patches On The Way?
Yep. I work in pharmaceuticals. I actually process the "batches" and make the medication(s). I can only imagine the ramifications if we not only produced a product, but released it to the general public "flawed" and with known "bugs/glitches" in our methods and/or oversite (ie quality).

No one has ever died because a video game got released with bugs in it.
The work pressures in making deadline-driven entertainment industry products and pharmaceutical industry products required to comply to FDA regulations are ridiculously and laughably different.
There is no value in making a comparison between how the two fields handle product defects if you are unwilling to acknowledge those differences.Comment
