99.9% of the time the game crashes when exiting franchise on PS5.

Same here but on ps4. I notice it happens less when i disconnect from the internet, load madden so it doesn’t sign into EA, then connect my ps4 back to the net. It still happens when doing this, but alot less. Frustrating as heck.

Been like 3 weeks now that I can't even play CFM games vs other users cause my game just crashes every time I try to play lol. Still no word from EA either, all they told me was that they're aware of the issue.

Still can’t play online franchise. Game goes to load screen EVERTIME after I complete my 1st preseason game. Deleted everything. Started over. Still does it. Latest update says it fixed it. It didn’t. Why do I have this problem while others are able to play?

Everytime I exit my offline franchise to go to the main menu to reload it, the game crashes.

Guys, delete all data from Madden 22, delete the game. Reinstall it. That's what I did post update and hadn't had any crashing or freezing since then. *Knocks on wood*

Edit: HA! Spoke too soon. Game again, crashed console. I'm done with this. This is getting ridiculous.

I'm done with Madden also. So sick of getting kicked back to the dashboard in the middle of an online head to head MUT game. If the game doesn't want me to play it , I guess I won't.

POSSIBLE ROOT CAUSE:

I have not been able to get through an entire quarter in a franchise game without it completely turning my Series x off. This has been the case since launch day one. Ive tried everything. I even went out and bought the hard disc from walmart after getting a refund with the digital download.

Nothing worked until last week when I purchased a new LG 65" C1 OLED tv. Suddenly all the boxes were ticked in the xbox settings and when I installed Madden 22 again I have had wonderful results. Every once in a while one time every several games i might get kicked to the xbox home screen but im able to instantly restart the game and finish it and continue to play other games.... this has only happened a couple times in like 7 games or something. Definitely, NO problem considering what I just went through... lol

I hate to say it but getting a new tv did the trick, it seems... I had a 2017 55" Sony Bravaro so its not like it was some pos or something...it had HDR10 but just didnt check all the boxes in the console settings.. the 120 and 4k and Dolby Vision all now are operational. All boxes are ticked. The problem is gone for me.

Just finished playing my first preseason game. Online PS5 solo and the game froze while exiting. Unbelievable. I waited to start my franchise.. Besides that the game acts like it’s going to become unresponsive after penalties and cut scenes. Unbelievable..

That's great it's working for you now, but that's just crazy we have to go buy out and buy a new TV just to make Madden 22 work. If it's not optimized for the TV it shouldn't be crashing. This is some in game bug/glitch that is causing it to occur. I've already sent in for repair and received a "new" one, but it's still doing in, exclusively with Madden 22. I have a pretty nice TV set too. It's a Samsung QLED 4K 65 inch.

I even thought outside the box and obtained new ultra high speed 4K cables, moved my console power cable from the power strip directly to wall, cleaned out the inside of the xbox console, reset, etc to no avail.

I know in fact it's Madden 22 and EA is failing miserably right now on this. They can't figure it out. Just to give everyone an insight how bad it is, check this out:

O I get it! I'm right there with you. I had pretty much just given up on Madden this year because it would shut my console completely off every single time I tried to play a game.. It seems to be playing OK right now but who knows..? I'm still like a gun shy dog anytime theres even the slightest pause..

No custom playbooks. I edited the official roster to put some practice squad guys on teams though. After I played my first preseason game I just got stuck on the loading screen after I went to exit the game. It was a great game so I was pissed. I don’t want to even try playing again and wasting an hour of my time for something I don’t know will freeze after I play or get hung up after a penalty or cut scene.

Wish I could find the old posts about it.

Thanks for the reply and that is interesting. I was ready to put Madden away and considered the $69.99 wasted.

I think you’re right that it could be a preseason thing.

It still worries me because there are a lot of times in game during injuries or challenges and penalties and even sometimes during a normal play where the play clock runs down to double 0’s and pressing and holding x or any other button or calling a time out doesn’t trigger a response.

It seems the game is running on a internal clock and sometimes the action that is supposed trigger is delayed.

Madden was more basic in the simple days, but it was fun.. the bs we have to deal with in the ps4/ps5 Xbox generation is ridiculous.

Still crashing for me after exiting an offline franchise. Not having any other issues with crashes or freezing except this issue when exiting franchise mode. Annoying, frustrating. But i deal with it. I thought redownloading after these patches would help but nope.
