Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Update Arrives with Gameplay Tuning & More - Patch Notes
So with the progressive fatigue what is actually happening late in the season now? Instead of subbing out and disappearing are they subbing out more but coming back in? Do they not have a speed burst or get tackled easier? I’m trying to figure out what the effects of it are now.

I just ran a bit of a game and coverage looked a lot better to me. Passing off receives in zone coverage looked improved animation-wise, and it seemed like transitions between various running animations for defenders was tuned so there's less weirdness and wasted movement.
Ah, this is good to hear, thank you! Coverages had gotten so bad I had to shelve the game.

What happens is if you do not manage your practice intensity full or half pads (split, backups or starters) properly you will see your players more susceptible to being subbed out more often or if you really push it…leave the game and not return. Also they are more susceptible to turnovers and injury.
That is the trade off of insisting on practicing full pads and starters every week. Yes you get the maximum weekly focus boosts and max XP….but at a cost.
The CPU did not have proper logic to reel in weekly practices and balance them properly.
Now they do. So you will not see guys just disappearing and CPU controlled teams falling off the proverbial cliff starting around week 13 and moving forward from there.

Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Report Update Available Now - Patch Notes
I guess I am in the minority as this patch and the last few have affected some parts of the game play that I thought were fine at launch and done nothing to affect others.
AI QB completion percentage and Human for that matter have gone way up. When the game launched there were way more off target throws and percentages averaged in the 50-60% range. I haven't played a game in 3 weeks where the AI has had less than a 70% completion percentage. To make it worse the few throws that are off line now are comically bad. Missing receivers by 10 yards, floating quick screens etc.
AI WR almost drop nothing at this point without lowering the sliders. As a human player if I don't take control of my CB or WR and actively go for a catch, swat or INT they just sit there and do nothing. I went back to last years game and the WR / CB interaction was much better without any input on my end.
The AI secondary play is so plainly juiced up that it is ridiculous. Human defenders do not react to the ball like they do. I have countless videos or DB's coming off coverage and breaking on routes before I have even released the ball. Never mind the no look, stop turn and jump INT. I'm actually astonished this isn't talked about more.
The kicking game was more accurate at launch. If I barely missed the target I would miss a FG or extra point. I was so happy this worked finally and the fact I could miss these kicks made that part of the game more stressful. Now you can miss it by a lot and still kick it dead straight, so disappointing.
For me with this latest patch the game speed has dropped noticeably. The players just move slower. Throw in lack of penalties still and I don't particularly care what they add off the field if I am no longer enjoying on the field.
This seems a recurring theme that as the game gets patched little things that actually felt realistic turn back to arcadey junk.
I was so excited for this years game and now I can barely stomach a full game.<a href="http://www.operationsports.com/Danimal/blog/6756-going-old-school-v1/">Read my blog Going Old School v1 GridIron! football.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Report Update Available Now - Patch Notes
It works the same as the EA generated classes. I used Bengals22 draft and stingley went up 2 points. Kayvon went down 4 points and had some players move over 100 spots from week 1 till draft day.
Teams pretty much followed the 5th mock draft that was preset for the 1st round outside of maybe 1 or 2 picks. Loved that they knew who I wanted and mocked Kayvon to me at pick 1 also. Needs to be tuned with better logic and detail with what's revealed and how, of course; but I'm pleased with it so far. Currently in wk 2 of 2nd year after simming first season.

Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Update Arrives with Gameplay Tuning & More - Patch Notes
In all honesty, all they did was change the look of last year's, and took away the ability to choice the players you want to scout. What really pisses me off is the logic of the scouting and mock draft. I changed a HB that's was original rated in the day 3 group. I made him 82 over best player on the draft ratings wise. I simulated through the season after setting my focus area on hb from his region and a focus player. Got to the draft he was only 85% scouted but still mocked in day 3. I thought it was the same logic as last year where the CPU doesn't actually scout players it's all based on where they are positioned in the scouting screens. So I moved him to the a projected 24th pick. Simmed the first round didn't get picked.
Sorry it's a lot. But it makes me mad cuz they didn't actually fix the issue. The whole gem/bust logic is based on starting ratings maybe I can find a gem rated high 70's in the 5th round. But that's not how it should work. My hb was the fastest in the draft that alone should move him up, but add the fact that after scouting his abilities he should also move up. And at the very least you reach on a player maybe a rd early not, but the projection logic is broken.

Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Report Update Available Now - Patch Notes
Besides a combine and athletic numbers drafting in the late rounds is literally the definition of a crap shoot and a gamble, GMs know very little at that point or else their hit rate would be better. They are also blindly picking players knowing very little at that point, I don't think it's more realistic to have a ton of information on late round rookies.
There was no work to be done on legacy, click on 3 boxes, it's green, solid player. And everyone would scout almost every player so you are left knowing exactly who to draft late and it only gave development as the question. To me that's lazy and not really scouting, nor is it representative of real owners drafting.
That's literally not true though with how insanely popular and huge the NFL is today. Unless you're talking about a few prospects here and there from the smallest schools in the nation (and even then if those guys flash, they will get picked up sooner or later on the searchlight), NFL scouting departments will know all there is to know about each and every eligible draft prospect in the class. They don't just get to the end of the third round on their draft board and say "welp, good year fellas, let's put the blind folds on and start throwing darts every which way".
The reason the draft itself is such a crap-shoot is because of what happens to prospects once they're actually in the NFL. The team they're on, the coaches they have, the schemes they play in, their teammates, their mentors, the media they play for, how dedicated they remain or become, etc al. So many factors go into an NFL player's career, it's not written by where or when they're drafted or what player they are when they are drafted. That's one of the things that makes sports so fascinating in general.
Trying to replicate the randomness of the draft by restricting your ability to scout isn't relatively realistic. The problem is there's not many ways to replicate that randomness in Madden once these prospects are fully professional players."Pop-Tarts? Did you say you have Pop-Tarts?"Comment

My fix for penalties and speed are everything up to block in the back is 60 and DPI at 99. Threshold is 84. Injuries at 15 but no biggie.
QB accuracy is 35
PBK is 30
WR Catch 42
Fum 45
Int 38
Gameplay is 15 min quarters 14 sec acc clock.
I switch between playing full games, offense only(slow sim), and occasionally supersim slow the full game.

Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Report Update Available Now - Patch Notes
Using the latest EA Roster, Jets Wilson was a 72 OVR, Jags QB was a 75 OVR for me.
Jets was looking at a QB throughout the season from jump, Jags had a QB on their need list, but was last & picked one up in the 3rd Round.
Per the Draft Logic, AI Teams did what was supposed to do.
Context and some detail of the situation really is necessary with all our assertions before claiming something is/isn’t correct.
***Remember Backups are part of the Drafting formula also
The Cowboys took a QB with their 1st round pick in my franchise. For context - Dak threw for 4,325 with 36 TDs, 8 INTs. The team went 16-1. He is not hurt.
That is simply bad AI draft logic. There's no excuse for it. A 3rd rounder would be fine as a backup. Using a 1st rounder when you have an elite QB with 3 years remaining on his deal makes 0 sense.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 22 Scouting Update Arrives with Gameplay Tuning & More - Patch Notes
My takeaway also. We now have lost our freedom to choose who we want to scout. It's way tougher to see a snapshot of a player's abilities... You have to click on the player card to see it. And of course once you are done with that player there's a glitch that shoots you up to the top of the list... So if you're looking at 2nd rounders, you lose your place and you're back at the top.
Also we lost our draft board... How? Who thought that was a good decision? Can't add "favorite" players during the draft anymore. Can't move players up and down based on how we view them.
I love the mystery that was added in with not knowing the OVRs and not knowing what every player's true talent is, but outside of that this scouting "update" is way more of a downgrade. There's nothing to do week to week. You hire scouts and then sit around all season while they get 40% completed, then you pick 3 focus players and find out a tiny bit more about them, and then sit around for another 8 weeks until the offseason where you find out a tiny bit more... Then the draft comes and every player is 40-60% scouted and you have no idea what's happening or what players you liked because - again - we no longer have a draft board where we can organize our prospects.
Big fail so far. Not sure who thought this was a step forward, but I don't think they actually spent the time to think through what they were removing from our control before releasing this. All summer the devs in the podcasts were saying "we want to make the weekly cycle more expansive so there's more to do each week... we want an engaging core loop." So why did they remove the core loop that existed and replace it with a feature that we have no control or involvement in except for 5-6 times per year?Comment

I'm simming through trying to get a feel for the new process. Couple questions
1. I selected three for super focus players. I saw no additional information.
2. I selected the same three for private workouts. Again, I saw no new information.
In both instances the % was exactly the same.
Am I missing something?
I confirmed the selections both time. Thanks.
