Well I'm level 0 and have been banned many, many times for zealously criticizing the game. It hasn't been this good in ages.

It still has many flaws, though. But it's definitely much better than in the recent past.

I agree with all of this - including the part about being banned for criticizing the game lol and being muted on twitter by all of the devs for asking for bugs to get fixed.

There's a lot of flaws in the game, but it's a great game. I have around 150 hours in the game so far and the majority of that was before the scouting update. Even with the stuff i don't like, this is a really fun game. And $65 for a game that provides me with 150+ hours of fun is well worth the money.

I am curious if when starting your franchise you have a suggested starting role to go with? Is it better to go owner? Coach? Do you get different scenarios based on the different roles?

        Thanks!

Coach. You will get all the scenarios. That is my opinion. Owner mode is kinda meh for me personally.

Aaron Rodgers was 36 when they picked Love. I’ve seen the Bengals, Jets and Cardinals take QBs in round 1. Burrow, Wilson and Murray ain’t 36.

Having very little idea what kind of player you're getting is refreshing to me. I was so bored with CFM because it became so easy to pretty much know you could out draft the CPU every time. I could get get guys in their mid-high 70s all through my draft board, rarely had a bust.

Now I have to accept that there will be guys I draft that will be a net loss. This is what happens every year in the NFL. NFL teams draft more players that never sign that 2nd contract than will be long term starters. It's more realistic now. Is it the BEST system, no, but it's better.

It's a good start that needs tweaking which is better than the same zero challenge, easy to game system we had. I want more for sure, but I'm happy to have a more level playing field and challenge, with the CPU teams.

Yeah, in the 1st round, it would be a problem, but I don't mind it in the 2nd. Belichick seemed to grab a day 2 qb that fell fairly often, with Brady. Then he'd try to flip them, at a premium. Ari taking a qb, in the 2nd, with a qb like Kyler isn't that far fetched.

It's far fetched when your young QB is playing at a Pro Bowl level like Herbert. Rosen had not done much of anything the year before the Cardinals took Murray.

I remember when the "Player Roles" feature came onto the scene, there was a specific Role issued to Quarterbacks drafted in the 1st round.

I believe it was "QB of the Future" which described the role along the words of:

"This is a QB that is valued by their franchise as potentially the Future QB. It prevents the team from drafting another QB in the first round or signing a better QB in Free Agency"

This actually did keep AI teams in check for just grabbing 1st Round QBs just because they were there.

They need these types of mechanics in the game, even if they are acting behind the scenes and the user can't see the label.

EA's current logic is just too simple. The AI takes a snapshot of their roster and looks to instantly improve it with no plan at all. They don't have the capability to have draft a QB and plan to develop them for 3 years before they start. They draft a QB once a QB is an instant need based off of an overall rating and not much else. They'll draft QBs in the 1st round 5 straight years because the logic only looks at their QB's 72 overall rating and not much else.

The AI needs to be given guidance through these types of systems. They need to be told this is your QB of the future and you'll build around him. That can be a system that flips a switch and simply gives them a logic that avoids any QB draft picks for a variety of years. Then when the timeframe is up the QB has either progressed to a point where they are the franchise QB or they've busted and it makes sense to draft another one.

The AI needs to be given the tools to look at their roster and know they aren't a contender and need to sell off their star LT who is beginning to age. In another example it needs to see it has a very young core that is talented and it is time to start making moves to build a team that can compete over the next 3 seasons. It will restrict what players they go after. They'll avoid development projects and try to get a proven WR to round out their offense.

I'd be happy if EA didn't add any major features to franchise mode, but spent an entire cycle going all in on a logic revamp allowing teams to have different states and multiple strategies for each state so that each team develops differently and has personality.

We've all seen in real life how certain teams go into buy now mode and each have different ideas on how to go about it. We see annually the different approaches teams take when rebuilding for the future.

Go all in on the logic and make the franchise mode play out like that as well.

Maybe I'm the minority here, but not knowing every single detail about a player is more realistic. The draft now has way more risk when taking someone as opposed to before where you would know who is a good player and who isn't just by looking at his top-3 traits and combine score.

Now you'll REALLY have to think when trading up to get guys you want. Better be careful! Lol

This is my favorite part of it. I don't care that we only get 45% of the info about most players, but we need some more control over the process to get that 45%. We need to be part of that. Instead of everything happening in the background where we have no control.
