Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
So here’s a question:
Your process has you do your initial review in week 1. But nothing special happens in scouting until like week 11 or whatever. Is there any reason you can think of that you couldn’t wait until week 11 to do your initial draft class analysis?

Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
Can you go into more detail about how you spot normal dev players vs star or better players? just don't want to find a few solid ratings only to get normal dev in my 32 man leagues. also I have no idea how to spot devs lolComment

Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
Can you add guys to your favorites list after week one and have them get scouted, or does the new system lock you in at week one to whomever you chose to favorite at that point?Comment

Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
You can add to your favorites list at any time, but of course you want the players who you want to get heavy scouting to be on the favorites list when you make the choice to lock in on those players.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
It's all combine and pro days. You should be favoriting most players with ELITE ability before you see those 2 stats. Anyone with red flag abilities otherwise should not be considered. IN general, it's not that difficult to find these players bc at least one of the pro/combine OR ratings OR athletic skills will show if a player is a hidden development player or not.Comment

Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
I've found that QBs are the hardest to scout. I looked back at the draft after the fact (I didn't need a QB but tracked them closely for future reference) and found that the Great/Elite method and Combine/Pro day results weren't as clear cut in predicting development.
Is there something you all have noticed that helps?Don't look back too long and don't look too far ahead.Comment

The good news is, QBs are probably the position where the OVR matters least, since so much of it is up to your joystick skills. They are also one of the easiest to “level up”.

And then if I NEED a QB I'm using that for my 3 coach scout and possibly as a 3 focused scout too.
Only thins I look for are short, medium, long accuracy but if I see some F's at like "injury" or something I'll eliminate them too.
Really you're just banking on getting lucky getting those ratings. I also think stories come into play too as tiebreakers, esp. if a QB wins heisman.Comment

Re: Madden 22 Updated Scouting tips
Some great tips here!
Myself and the mysterious "Fraser" are working on a scouting spreadsheet and currently are working through the grade thresholds by position.
It will include:- input free info for all players in class (dims, grades, traits etc)
- provides a "physical" score based off pre combine info
- provides estimated player profile based off pre combine info
- creates a rough valuation score based on all the info input
- calc that tells you based on valuation above and projected draft position if they're a reach, bust, good or poor pick if taken there.
- ability to plan your scouting and tell you what % you will be at.
- ability to assess strength of the draft class per group & position per draft stage.
- place to write notes and keep stories
- filters and sorting ability for all information, includes automatic modern position groups OL, DL, Edge, LB and DB.
- set your own draft board & subboards and record when a player has been taken mid draft for your filters
- space to write archetype or predict it and it'll tell you the likely top3 attributes
Is there anything else based on scouting and drafting so far that would be useful?Comment
