Is anyone else experiencing mass injuries since the update? My default injury slider is on 25 yet I have had at least 4-5 guys go down in the space of a few games. 13 min quarters.

Also when I go to add funds in franchise for my owner it actually decreases funds instead of adding them? Is anyone else experiencing this?

The most frustrating is a les than average Ai defensive lineman shedding a block instantly while being blocked by a superior lineman as a superstar RB gets sucked into a tackle with momentum being n nonexistent. But on the flip side the user team never gets the same outcome.

Why is it either or? EA not having credibility doesn't mean SGO automatically does.

Sort of like when they said "we're making contracts realistic" but they really meant they weren't doing anything with contracts!

The contracts of NFLPA players in Madden have indeed been updated, though, albeit within the strict confines of the current contract system. The annual cap hits are certainly more accurate than they were just a couple years ago. Free agent contract demands in Franchise have also been adjusted a number of times; not to say there’s not room for further improvement there, but there has been improvement.

At this point, Madden player contracts are as realistic as they can possibly get without a (very much needed and long overdue) overhaul of the roster entire economic system in Franchise. This is probably my top want for Madden 23; NFL salary cap management has come a long way since 1999, but you wouldn’t know it from playing Madden.

Madden is in an OK state on the field, as opposed to before; but off the field needs that tune up. Roster management is basically all user interaction via draft, Fa, and resigning. If the AI can do that even 2 to 3 times better id be ecstatic. im in year 4 of my 5th franchise and i wouldnt still be playing amid complaining if it wasnt somewhat improved from years past fr

                    CREDIBILITY
EA has lost that after repeated lies, and attention to the franchise mode.
SGO put out a story, verified by multiple sources, that expose EA’s decision to not honor their commitments to franchise made to fans last year and this year.

It's also more believable that there's nothing else significant coming when we're sitting at 5 months since release and there's no road map, no talk since October, no fixes to all of the bugs in the update released in October, and the NFL season is almost over... The fixes came late last year but we at least had a road map of their plans pretty early on.

This year it's "Oh yeah we're totally still doing that live service thing we couldn't shut up about in the summer but clearly haven't delivered on in the last 5 months except that super buggy update we gave you in October"

If it ever happens, their "updates" will probably be stuff we were promised would be in the game at launch like coordinators being hiring away by CPU.

Not sure this part is accurate. They put out a report based on multiple sources, not verified by multiple sources. Unless I missed something, the report wasn't corroborated by other outlets.

We agree that EA lost credibility and shouldn't be blindly believed when they promote something. But that also doesn't mean any report counter to what EA claims is automatically accurate and should be taken as truth. That's all I'm saying. It's not an either-or situation.

$324M over 7 years is $46.28 million per year, which is just a bit over the $45M average annual value of the current Patrick Mahomes contract.

One might rightly criticize Madden for not having great enough annual inflation of contract values relative to the rate of salary cap increase; Josh Allen's cap number for 2026 (the soonest Fields could begin an extended contract in Madden) is $47M. I assume another quarterback tops $50M AAV very soon. That all allowed, this looks just fine to me. Certainly within the margin of error.

The problem is that in Owner Mode, the bonus is paid out all at once and could bankrupt your franchise. Which, uh, isn’t realistic.

                                Nope, that is correct.

The NFL - NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement mandates that any guaranteed money in a player contract be placed in escrow at the time it is guaranteed, as to ensure it is available to pay to the player at such time dictated by the contract.

I admittedly don’t know how this works with roster bonuses which become guaranteed later in a given contract. For simple signing bonus payments guaranteed at the time the contract is executed, however? Yes, the club must fund those dollars in full immediately. Madden has this implemented correctly.

Madden contracts only offer guaranteed money at time of signing. There is no such thing as a roster bonus, escalator, or likely-to-be-earned incentive in Madden. Again, revising all the economics of Franchise to include levers such as this is the top item on my Madden Franchise wishlist. It’s long overdue.
