Matchup Stick Missing Fron the Game?

I'm on PS4 and PS5, and when I press L2/LT to preview the matchup stick, nothing shows up. Is anyone else that uses the matchup stick having the same issue?

None of that stuff is there now. Being able to see fatigue, ratings, matchups. Feels like an odd thing to purposefully remove.

Not on series X either. I thought i hid it with some of the visual stuff i turned off. I hope they get this back in.

I wrote this in the impressions thread but I will double post for visibility:

EA announced during the beta period on their feedback forum that the Matchup Stick was removed from Madden 23. I imagine it was removed because it did not work at all in Madden 22.

I assume it comes back at a later time in a different form, it was indeed useful.

Oh wow, interesting that they removed it. I personally didn't use it all that much but for the folks who did that kind of stinks.

Thats interesting that they took it away but I guess Ill just have to go back and look a tthe depth chart more often.

Frustrating. It was nice to know which CBs were matched up on my WRs and what our fatigue levels were. I don't understand why their solution to everything is to remove it... this, refs... it's like if it's not the most perfect thing ever they just take it out. Fans look awful - especially compared to FIFA 23 - so are they gonna be gone soon too?

Yeah this is really disappointing. If it isn’t working as intended then put in the resources to fix it. They had it in several maddens as well it was a staple in the NCAA series. Knowing about the matchups, fatigue, etc is crucial and should be in the game IMO.

Very disappointed by this as I used it religiously to check WR/CB matchups.

It makes it even more painful because they replaced it with what best can be described as UI vomit.

What about it didn't work? It worked fine all year last year for me. On last gen though.

On PS5 / XSX, one could view data mapped to the bottom half of the matchup stick (fatigue, pass blocking, run blocking), but it was not possible to view any data mapped to the top half of the matchup stick (all five eligible receiver - defender matchups). The game actively blocked it.
