Is it just me or are lob passes not nearly thrown high enough? No matter what I do, my lob throws on man to man streak plays, that would have been caught if they were thrown high enough and catch the receiver in stride, always are underthrown and thrown too low.

I've been saying this since release, i use classic passing. Ill have a step or two on the DB, lobs are 90% of the time underthrown

After playing for about 150 hours, here are my thoughts on INTs... please take the time to read each bullet point before responding. There are multiple issues in this game:

1. Pass Trajectories - LBs are superhuman again because the pass trajectories are very off. Most passes are way too low. Guys will intercept lob passes when the LB is 5+ yards behind the WR who the pass is intended for.
2. Pass Accuracy - This is NOT a player skill item... this is about lob passes, and any downfield throw, being underthrown every time in this game. They often look intended for the DB, not the WR, which is one of the reasons why so many passes get undercut but the DB.
3. DB Aggressiveness // WR Passiveness - DBs care about the football. They act like it's everything to them. WRs don't give a crap about the ball and they act like it's not important.
4. Player Skill - Sometimes INTs are high because we make mistakes and throw 4 INTs in a game. It happens sometimes.
5. CPU Skill - Other times the CPU is absolutely abysmal and they throw 5 INTs in a game, even on All Madden.

I think this issue is complicated. It's oversimplified to say "get good and play better" even though that is part of the solution sometimes. It is also oversimplified to say "use the new passing system and you won't have issues" because that ignores multiple problems.


My theory is that they tinkered with trajectories during the implementation of the new passing system and they couldn't get it corrected before launch. At this point i don't think they'll do anything about it because honestly nothing the devs have done since launch has shown me that they have any desire to patch this game in a meaningful way.

Lob passes were PERFECTLY fine practice mode, using classic passing 🙄

You're 100% right.

The other thing is that every CB can track both the ball and the WR perfectly. How does the CB know exactly when and where the QB is going to throw, but the WR doesn't? Even in the NFL (it's way more egregious in college, but unfortunately I doubt EA will get this right in the next NCAA game) most corners track the WR way more than the ball. It's impossible to go step for step with the WR and perfectly track their route, while still knowing exactly where the ball is at all times.

They do for me. Lower them to 35 you’ll see all kinds of drops.

It's really bad, I picked off Winston 9 times in one game. Rarely do I have a game where I don't throw a pick, usually it's 2 or 3. I moved both INT sliders to zero and still tons of picks.

Did they do something maybe in the background?

I ask cause I have gone 3 games with no INTs, and 12tds. Lots and lots of swats to passes that were picks before.
