Nah this **** is objectively broken. If the slider is set to 0 then INTs shouldn't happen but they still do. I remember in Madden 22 if you set the CPU INTs slider to 0 and you threw what should be an INT it would just bounce off the CPU's hands versus in 23 the INTs still happen and some of them are just very unrealistic.

If the slider ain't broken, I don't know that it is but I am hearing some folks say it is, then what you cite above may not be a philosophical design difference, but an actual bug. I'm curious to see if this will be fixed tomorrow w the patch though.

I honestly give up. Earlier I said it was me, and I am not afraid to say I was wrong. I set the slider to zero, and I still can't make a throw without an int.

I have played 10 games, and in those 10 games, 18ints...18.

We are talking every swat, every pop up deflection, REACHING THROUGH the WR....ints everywhere. I have managed one int free game, and I had to be perfect.

Hope they fix it soon, I'm not buying until it's fixed.

As someone who was all about interception fest in M22 and have my issues again this year, I can look at the ones I throw now and KNOW it's because I threw scared and made a bad decision. And trust me, I'm CERTAINLY not a "get gud bro" type of dude. In my QB FotF I have 7 TD and 8 INT through my first 2 regular season games but I know I'll get better at it with the placement & accuracy passing mechanic and then start to be almost cheesing the CPU. lol

Regarding the idea that it's a player problem: some of that may be true.

But I played the first game of a Lions franchise last night. No roster changes. All-Pro, default sliders, simulation game style.

I went 21-24 for 335 yards and 4 TDs with Goff. Also, one pick. That pick? A crossing route, with man to man coverage where the receiver just...didn't attempt to play the ball, and the defender sped up by four steps to cut off the pass and intercept it in stride. None of my passes were screens or jet sweeps or anything, it was all legitimate downfield passing. Longest pass play was like 30 yards, so it's not like I had a couple 80 yarders and then a ton of dink and dunk.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm some kind of savant at the game, but I feel like I do OK. Obviously, I'm fully capable of running a passing game. But it's very possible to recognize that defenders are making plays that they straight up couldn't and never do make in real life. You see plays like that multiple times per game if you're controlling both the offense and the defense. It's possible for the game to be pretty wacky in terms of pass defense right now and for that not to be a problem with any individual user.

I’m fairly certain interceptions are broken because I set the CPU slider to 0 just to test it and I’ll still get picked off multiple times per game. That shouldn’t happen if it’s at 0.

I just threw a jump ball to FB Kyle Juszczyk in the red zone and he won. Granted, I manually caught the ball and used the high throw modifier.

I reduced that by reducing CPU INT to 12, CPU pass reaction time to 45, and user WR ability to 60.

I reiterated earlier in this thread but, I’m not having much issues with this. Probably because when I throw the ball I will manually try catching it or pressing the Y button for aggressive catching.

My issue with the game still is yes interceptions are still high in general, and my DBs lack the aggression when playing defense.

It’s weird.. I swear CPU WRs and DBs attack the ball while the USER WRs and DBs won’t attack the ball.

It's intentional in my mind. You can actually prove this if you feel like doing the work. Stack a team with the top rated DB's. Then play offense against them, then control the D and let the offense be run by the CPU. It's easy to see there IMO

I said yesterday that EA should market this with the tagline "FEEL THE FEAR" cuz everytime I drop back to pass boy do I get pretty afraid. I think all of us are going to have to adjust and learn to throw the ball away more and not force the issue.

95% of my interceptions are nothing more than my panicked decision *OR* the Favre thought process of "oh it's a small window but I'll get it in there" and that's just how I like it.

In fact, I have read that they say what makes a great game is that when you fail at it you know what you did wrong and want to try it again and again. Easy to play and very hard to master.

There are multiple things at play here. First, default slider values are way too high. Drop the interception slider into the teens or single digits. Second, many people are still getting used to passing with the new defensive play and are likely throwing late/forcing passes. You need to throw with anticipation more now than ever. Don't be afraid to dump it off or even take the sack if needed. Third, for years now user WR's will not make an aggressive catch attempt unless the user either throws a high pass or presses Y/Triangle to attempt the aggressive catch. WR's will always let the ball come to them unless you do one of those two things. CPU WR's will use all catch types on their own, but user WR's will not for some reason.

This is spot on! I’ve noticed this year you really have to high point the ball to get your receiver to do a decent aggressive catch. Even on regular throws when you go for the aggressive catch the receiver is jumping like one inch off the ground. I think people need to get used to the fact that the L1 button is the only way they are going to get those “Odell Beckham” catches of years past

This is on PC, but this shows that yes WR's do go more after the ball. In past years this was a guaranteed INT or drop ball..

The pc version is the same as the ps4, so it isn’t the same game as t he ps5/Xbox whatever version
