Re: Sync Data / NO ints!!!

I tested out the season - eight games - that all prove what I said to start with. Wks - 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, WC (where I lost fairly), Pre1, Pre2 . A total of just 3 INTs over those weeks, but they were crazy and respectable ones only. A tipped pass that floated too long, me just stupidly hitting the wrong button (I just switched from PS to Xbox) and then one where it went through my WR hands into the arms of the CB that was just behind him in man coverage. The animations didn't warp. They were smooth. Swats are there. Bouncing off stone hands is there. Bounced a few off some LB's facemask.

I was able to tweak my sliders to make my OL run blocking even tougher, and it actually worked.

Bigger news perhaps, I'm 2 games into preseason of year two. I absolutely had no issues with my draft - all seven rounds just fine and using a custom draft roster.

Long story short - whatever it is that I got in the sync data loads made a big difference. The game is still not where I'm used to it being, as I admit to still having a kind of new fear of the CPU defenses, but that's maybe the greatest thing of all. The threat of consequences and costing my team on every play is what we've needed for a long time. Grinding out victories, losing close games and/or straight up getting blown out is much appreciated.

Therein lies the problem. Do we have any idea what this was exactly? Did anyone else see this? Your sync data message is clearly an Xbox message so what is it exactly? All the things you are seeing sound great but it feels like nobody else is seeing this or getting the sync data message. Since we can't "recreate" your scenario, it is hard to tell if anything has really changed. Do we have any additional details as to how "we" can get this to happen on our systems if it is indeed some type of update?

I’ve seen this synch data thing before and t as helped the game like the op says. It’s been there for years. He probably lost his internet connection, didn’t know he lost the connection and kept playing, turned off the game, and when he started the game the next time, the internet was on and it had to resynch. I think that;s how you can recreate it.

Re: Sync Data / NO ints!!!

I hear you all, and I agree it's weird, and being new to xbox, I have less clue about it overall. When the two sync data screens hit, they hit fast, though. Each one lasted maybe a second and a half - there long enough for me to see what it read and then gone. Had I simply turned my system on, pressed the Madden tile in the main menu and just walked away or whatever for a few seconds, I may have never known it occurred. I think it's quite likely this may have happened to others, and they just didn't see it.

I had already gotten the update before these, as well, so I know the time it took to DL / install and such.

The most confusing thing about these are of those of you saying it is per online play usually or only. I don't play online, though. I just don't. I can honestly say that I never even did online anything with the PS4 versions. I mean, yeah, I do have the whole game pass set up so that I can DL rosters, draft classes and such, but that's it. My franchise saves like always are absolutely offline.

The best I can offer is trying to figure out file save names in the storage (I assume - settings or wherever) and start listing them here. I'll make the effort, I promise.

If I'm not mistaken, sync data is when the Xbox tries to sync the game data that's saved on the cloud with the game data that's saved locally. There are times where if those two are not in sync, you'll get a pop up message asking which saved data you want to use...either from the cloud or local and it'll show you the date of last saved for both.

This normally happens when you've played both online and saved as well as offline and saved.

I doubt that syncing the save files could have any effect on gameplay. If you are indeed experiencing significantly better gameplay, it likely has nothing to do with the sync data message. The timing of that was probably coincidental to whatever else actually changed to get you a different experience. Hope we figure it out cause it sounds good if we could just replicate it.

Edit: Rethinking that, I guess downloading a slider set from the cloud could overwrite your local settings and have an effect on gameplay. Still it's just a settings file and nobody has been able to come up with a combination of game settings and sliders to fix obvious weakness of the AI in the game. So...I still think it was something else other than the "sync data" message that is causing you to have a different experience. Good Luck!

Played 2 games after reading this thread and no ints. I also had the sync box pop up at the "press any button" screen. I even threw a pass right into a dbs chest and he dropped it. Also, I have my int sliders set to 0. Something interesting is going on here.

I dug around online to find what the sync data screen looked like when it popped up those two, quick times. Obviously it said Madden 23 as the game and not "cancelar" because it was English. Anyway, the screen that popped up was just like in the pic - same color scheme, etc.

Interestingly, my version of Madden says version 1.0.0.7.

I thought we were on version 1.0.0.4 or 1.0.0.5... can anyone add some clarification to this?

By that logic, you and countless others are creating a nocebo effect because you're negative and/or expect negative outcomes.

Actual logic, though, is that a placebo effect can't occur, as I'm not being told that I have been given something that is designed to be a remedy. Rather, I am simply applying the scientific method of theory, test, conclude and am noting publicly the differences from release day, through recent instances and continuing through the present.

More actual data - I found that my Xbox insider program build updated the day following the 1.0.0.7 update. That's in line with seeing differences.

The build versions are different from console to console. I think the latest patch on PS5 was 1.0.0.5 but I am not in front of it to check.

The initial digital release version was like 1.0.0.1 on PS5 whereas it was 1.0.0.3 on XBOX if I remember correctly. I had the disk version as well and it was 1.0.0.0. This just adds confusion.

Still....what does an Xbox insider update have to do with Madden playing better? I'm not trying to be dismissive but until we get confirmation of something actually changing, I am leaning toward the placebo effect as well. I've deleted my complete version of Madden off my console and redownloaded it and for a while I swear it is playing differently. So I know this effect can happen. And....to be clear, If I saw a "sync data" message on my PS5 version, and then following that all the games felt different I'd be inclined to think it updated too. But I just don't think the sync data does that, unless the Xbox is setup fundamentally different and is able to sneak "back door" updates without releasing a title update.

It's all good.....I respect everyone's opinion. I just wish this was somehow able to be proven to be true.

I really can't speak on it. I haven't updated my game since 1.0.0.5 on Xbox and I honestly don't plan on doing it either. But, I'm glad to hear that whatever is going on has the game playing better for people.
