The issue is the annual release schedule. A lot of games launch in brutal states and take a while to round into form. The difference between a DICE or CD Projekt Red game on launch day vs. 1+ year down the road is night and day. (Seriously. Try Cyberpunk 2077 on a next gen console/gaming PC after patch 1.5, its a whole different game). The balancing in games like Rainbow Six Siege has been ongoing for seven years. If they shifted to a multi-year launch and support window, we'd have a totally different story to tell. I know they won't and I know why, but that's the cause.
Why has the support for this game been so bad?

Re: Why has the support for this game been so bad?
You tell me, I see plenty of valuable stuff in here:
The progress impeding bugs which are still present still suck, and they are the main reason I am not playing Madden 23 at the moment. That allowed, I am entirely capable of separating my evaluation of the post-release support effort from outstanding issues.
I am hopeful that those progress-impeding bugs get addressed in this month's (presumed) title update.
I am in yr2 of my MLB franchise playing every game and 2 month in in 2k bcuz they don't have any major bugs that could prevent me from continuing the franchise mode
I'm lucky that I don't buy Madden for full price on release date but Madden used to be most played game for me but now it falls behind every sports game due to the major issues
Also I think with them saying it was most polished version ever did not help perception of the game either
Hoping the patch this month fixes major issues, was very thankful and happy for the interception fix

Why do you constantly defend them so vehemently? It seems strikingly baffling that you are consistently covering up every single one of their mishaps and failures on a daily basis knowing full well how badly they failed us this year.
Not a criticism, just an observation that I'd say regardless of your position on this board. It's weird and makes it appear objectively that you have a vested stake in the commentary regarding Electronic Arts.Comment

what would him playing the game have to do with being invested in the company? Not saying that he is or isn't but they don't have anything to do with each other.Comment

Re: Why has the support for this game been so bad?
EDIT—Hence why some outstanding changes to the game have been attempted. Clearly they haven’t all worked out, but I for one—when bugs don’t break the game—prefer this iteration of Franchise Mode, and prefer this gameplay, more than any Madden since the PS2 days.
And note that I’ve been temp banned for criticizing EA on several occasions, so I am no apologist. What they are trying to do is just better than what’s been attempted for some ten, fifteen years. The execution just needs a boost.
I absolutely love the little coach cut scenes, the more interesting scouting (needs some touches, such as adding to the “traits” discussion tab some RATINGS discussion [e.g., “Blazing speed and amazing hops. If this guy had hands, he’d be a Randy Moss clone”], include some college stats, which are context dependent in a way that matches the storylines [such as a mediocre QB having great stats in college because he has three NFL caliber WRs on his team], etc. ), the existence of personnel departments and coordinators. All these things are great foundations. They just need to be implemented better and touched up.
And without people who actually want the game to be good working there, we’d have the same lifeless Franchise Mode, with zero record keeping of who MVPs or Super Bowl winners were year to year, and so on.
In summary, the problem is not vision. It’s execution. EA needs better quality control. Maybe instead of investing in yolo swag-bling-bot “game changers,” whose primary qualification is having social media clout, they should hire more people who actually have experience testing games and working with developers to find and correct bugs (I’d volunteer myself if I didn’t already do that for another game [NDA]).Last edited by ForUntoOblivionSoar∞; 11-07-2022, 11:59 AM.Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image

Re: Why has the support for this game been so bad?
First time poster reading the web and after reading your reply it was hilarious.
Someone hacked my account in early SEPTEMBER, I spent bought the game and spent about 50 bucks on ultimate team.
I still have yet to gain access to my account. It took THREE cases, four seperate conversations to habe my ban overturned as the person who gained access to my account apparently played games I do not own/lived in a dofferent country.
Here i am in NOVEMBER and even though they overturned my ban they did not fix my email address back to mine, therefor making the game inaccessable to me and could poyentially just give the account right back to the hacker.
It is week 9 in the NFL season, and I lost control of it around week 2. I have never received customer service from anyonr that had been SO freaking terrible. I had to make a fourth new case attempting to have them switch my email address and gamertag back to the way it should be--- something they should have done when the ban was overturned.
EA not having competition proves without a doubt how bad things can get without said competition. They are the only NFL game out there. A monopoly on the business is not good for business and I have owned every madden for ten years. In retrospect, i regret spending my hard earned money on this junk. No longer.
This is the last year I spend another penny on this crap and I can only hope and pray in 2026 the NFL finally widens up to this bull****.
Several of those guys who work on the game started on this forum or are/were involved in other social media sites that members of this community are.

Re: Why has the support for this game been so bad?
Madden 23 has seen a significant title update literally every month since it released, and new game content has appeared in the game literally every single week.
I challenge you to find a game with more consistent support? I doubt Madden is the pinnacle of video games in this area, but I will argue that the cadence of post-release support for this series is currently and historically has been pretty damn consistent.
This doesn’t mean the bugs which remain aren’t annoying and shouldn’t be fixed.
Madden "new" game content does not count as updating the game as a live service as they advertised. Ea is a joke with the community. That's well known. I don't view waiting till October to be able to play the game because of a bug when released in August as keeping it current. If I spent 70 bucks on release I would feel upset to have to wait like that.

Why has the support for this game been so bad?
Not only that, but this was supposed to be “the most polished madden” and it’s been a disaster. Months later and it’s plagued with the same bugs. They fix one thing and ruin another. This year’s madden has been a massive disappointment.

Re: Why has the support for this game been so bad?
There is a level of irony that the game is finally playing great on the field (relatively speaking) and I can't play franchise mode out of fear.
I've played countless seasons of franchise over the past several years with subpar gameplay and now that I'm finally enjoying the gameplay I've basically shelved Madden because I'm terrified of the franchise rewind glitch."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Destiny 2 gets updated weekly and issues communication via a twab about ongoing issues weekly. They have constant communicatio With the community and fixs bugs as soon as they can.

Also it's November and it's still not been patched. This whole cycle has been a complete slap in the face to everyone that bought this game.Comment
