Interesting...let me ask you, do you play no switch? or do you manually take control...

Running is not as easy and cpu d-line has definitely been turned up, along with o-line not being impenetrable (user). Pass D is way tighter. All Madden overall just harder like it should be. I won my game running not passing, and I ran a kick all the way back which was great.

The game plays so different in franchise mode that I have no yearning to try out this beta.

A bit of a combination, but usually no switch. I'll only switch if I absolutely feel it necessary, and sometimes it doesn't work since I'll hit circle to switch and it just, doesn't work.

A lot of the perfect timing knockout hits my defense is getting are AI controlled. Especially since my instinct from 23 is switch on and hit stick and that fails hard-core 90% of the time on 24.

3 - pressure the CPU quarterback (dive deep into pass protection rules by formation and defensive front so you know when and how to call fire zones, and also which players to hot route and user to create simulated pressures; you will have to initially learn this outside of Madden unfortunately)

4 - minimize repeat play calls on both offense and defense (the All Madden CPU picks up especially on repeated run play calls very quickly now)

5 - tattoo all the coverage shells Madden can possibly present into your brain (there aren't many) and memorize the beaters to audible and hot route into

6 - identical and similar concepts across multiple formations do not count as repeated play calls, so don't be afraid to lean into "easy" plays across multiple formations; for example, under-center PA Slide is one of my favorite Cover 3 beaters and I lean into it as much as I can when I see single-high presentation from the defense

7 - on the flip side, bait the CPU into certain coverage calls specifically by repeating play calls, then use motion and hot routes to create beaters (but not audibles, you don't want the CPU to audible in response to your audible)

8 - learn the goals of each run blocking scheme to better understand how to run the ball and when to audible to different runs depending on the front presented by the defense (again, you will probably have to go away from Madden and elsewhere on the internet to do this)

9 - if a defense spams man coverage against you, call condensed sets and unbalanced sets to give your receivers more two-way goes and better chances of defeating man coverage
So beyond 1 and 3, I generally am following these rules, at least somewhat.

For 1, I play with the Bills, my only worth a damn rusher is Von, and I do switch up my rush moves, techniques, and rotate as close to the IRL Bills as I can.

For 3, I'd say I'm a decent study of the game, but there's always more that one can learn, so I'll definitely do some more studying up.

pass defense is definitely improved. I see way more swats. Penalties are the same. I did see 1 defensive pass interference called. Sadly that was the only penalty for the entire game. human run blocking seem to be nerfed, which I don't mind because before those holes were gapping and stayed open for a long time.

Re: Madden NFL 24 Beta is Back Online Until July 17

Did not play the beta much the first go around due to the poor performance on PC. Have played about a game so far, so a small sample size for sure, but performance is much better. Unfortunately, it is way too easy to move the ball even on All Madden. I have not touched any sliders except for speed threshold being set to 95 because I wanted my feedback to mostly be based on what EA was giving us out of the box.

Even at 95 threshold it is way way way too easy to bounce a run outside which has been a problem in Madden for some time now. I am hoping it is a fluke, but I am not holding my breath. Madden has been a very offense first game for awhile and I doubt that will be changing this year with the changes they made to the game all mostly being on the offensive side of the ball. The defense in the game is just too limited because EA has not developed that side of the ball to keep it modern. For example, it's 2023 and we're still seeing the game default to spot drops because they can't figure out how to properly do match coverage. That's unacceptable, imo.

Fortunately, it does seem like a much more polished version of 23 despite being a beta which gives me hope that there will be a pretty good foundation to work with if the modding scene can get going on PC. Unless sliders have become significantly more sensitive I'd worry that it would be too difficult to create a challenging experience by simply using them. However, I do know if we can mod it like we have the past releases, then I will be able to tune the game the way I want to under the hood to get a more difficult and gritty experience that is authentic to how I see the NFL.

I know it's a longshot but are any of you playing this on a PC with an AMD Ryzen processor? I have a gaming PC with a Ryzen 5600x and an RTX 4070ti and it tears through all the previous versions like butter but it won't even launch Madden 24 beta. It just crashes after the Madden 24 logo screen and there is a small red error message in the bottom left corner for .5 seconds saying something about Error: trying to enable RTAO without raytracing enabled. Raytracing has been disabled with WorldRender.RaytraceEnable False.

I'm sure none of you have any idea what this error means but are any of you running it on a Ryzen chip? It never worked even with the first beta a few weeks ago and I am left playing it on my laptop with an intel i7 and a 2070m video card.

I really want to be able to play the real release on my gaming PC so I am curious if anyone else sees this.

Thanks in advance. I will try to game on my laptop and get back with some impressions later.

That's my sentiments on the run game. Outside runs are too easy. Mobile qbs can easily get to the outside and get easy long runs.

I often wonder do folk who say the game seems easy in a certain area, substitute all the lower rated players on the team in & play with them before doing any kind of adjustments.

I say this because Front End ratings are always higher than Draft Class levels & as generated players ratings levels are introduced into the Franchise, the gameplay will definitely be different.

I still stand by my notation that M24 is just a Tuned M23, but I also will admit that several of the prior M24 ratings edit levels are not playing out the same.

                              - the amount of Off player separation happening with MRR is definitely boosted, even at their “75” (Good Route Runner) level, almost to the point of being OP

                              * Ramsey was giving up separation to such a lower MRR level having the highest MCV rating an DB can have.

I know there’s no such thing as 100%, but I was just seeing it happen a little too much for my liking

I didn't even realized I got into beta lol. I signed up mainly because I hadn't played madden since madden 20 on pc and this is the first year it was next gen. Forgot all about it the first time around. I happened to do a search in my email today and saw I had a key from the first time! lol Still works .

Anyways what others have said, it's just way to easy to run the ball on all-madden (no sliders). CPU does a good job playing zones but you still can dot them up. Pass rush needs to be tuned for the AI. I always felt it was never enough. I really wish there was a lvl above all-madden. Hopefully the pc guys can do their magic.
