I haven’t done that in years!!!

Me neither, this will be the first time in probably 20 years I take a day off just to play Madden. I'm just having the best games in Madden 24 beta and I'm the most excited I've been for the new Madden in as long as I can recall!

Wait. Is it August 18th? Is 14 the pre-order day or something? Where did I hear that?

It's August 15th officially (for Deluxe edition) but when I bought it at the Playstation store this morning it said releases August 14th.

I am east coast btw. I imagine it'll just be Monday August 14th at midnight going into Tuesday. So I'll probably just take off Tuesday.

0 and as of now won't buy. Was very underwhelmed by the Franchise beta, how player creation customization is still way lacking, and how glitchy it was. A lot of new UI changes but still the same shallow features and presentation is still far behind. Will check out how the PC crowd is able to MOD the game but very disappointed with what i played.

Back in the days I used to take 2-3 days off to play madden after release

I don't do it anymore because the excitement levels aren't the same and EA usually takes 2 or 3 months to patch it up good

I'm more inclined to be playing The Show at least until Nba2k is out which means that Madden will be a wait and see approach.Will probably just mess around with an older versions franchise here and there until that time.

Are you planning to get the PC or console, if you do eventually buy I mean.

If I do buy it (assuming the PC crowd can greatly improve customization and presentation) I'll get it on PC. Fear is by the time the MODs are ready, the NFL season may be over. Didn't like what I saw from the PS5 beta version and not worth buying for me.

I preordered the Deluxe Version the hour it was available. I took one PTO day. (Tuesday it comes out)

I have the standard PS5 disc version pre ordered. However I will be moving in my son to college in Raleigh NC that entire weekend.

So once we return we will start our Madden 24 All Pro Slider test franchise!

I actually loved the gameplay on the beta. It was the first time since my all time favorite Madden 16 that I felt player movement and tackling went to a far more realistic place. So I have a lot of excitement.

Plus I love the fact they added all those killer XP/development/regression sliders and contract restructuring (huge addition imo for long term franchise play).

I feel like this will be a great cycle for Madden football. I was one who enjoyed 23 a lot…..we had a hiccup mid cycle and then things got squared away after the Madden Bowl (seems like a pattern with this game).

24 feels like a true next gen Madden as far as player movement and tackling as well as WR/DB interactions, OL blocking at the first and second level.

Still other areas of the game need to catch up (I am talking to you penalty sliders and simulation injury slider as well as a robust network inspired presentation package both on the field and off inside franchise and for the draft).

Looking forward to August 22nd when we will commence our stream marathons testing the game out in franchise mode!

First year I haven't preordered since 2013 and even that year was an anomaly. I plan on playing it the 18th and then I'm off the following week for some day trips and a 2 night stay over in Mystic, CT to see the seaport and aquarium but I'll have my series S with me on that trip. Getting really excited for the game after reading all the good news from the beta.

I used to vacation days just to play madden.

I teach so I’ll have some time to play when it comes out. I do miss the old days of getting the ratings/play book at EB games a week before the game came out. Then heading down the store the night before it came out to play and watch the Madden tournament and the getting the game at Midnight. Also Trying to track down an early version of the game via eBay/Craigslist or the random store a state away who would sell pre street date. The good old days for sure. I’ll still grab it day one and play it a bunch. Heck I’m still kind of playing 23
