Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players

Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

I could be wrong but I think it more effects acceleration and not the actual max speed.

Interesting, I wonder why so many play around the 48-45 spot. I never had an issue with defenders lagging behind at times, i treat it as defensive inconsistency. Makes the game more difficult.

I wonder if the devs still go by this putting it at 75. I don't understand why they wouldn't default it to their intended setting.
An intended setting by EA doesn't guarantee it'll be the best setting.

Hell EA tells us that the default penalty settings are based off real life data

I don't think they even know which settings in their own game is the true base setting

Does anyone have a source for this “devs go by 75” statement? Twice now that’s been said in this forum. Is that real or myth?

I can honestly say this has never been the case with me playing madden on coach mode. I've had 86 spd corners keep up with 96 receivers just from playing off coverage and even on bump and run. Linebackers with 78 speed are step for step with TE's with 88 speed. I've had 78 speed TE's run by my 94 speed corners and out run them for 40 yards before they catch up. I've never seen speed be speed in this game, hell even adjusting the sliders or changing the difficulty to test this never changes this fact.

I believe the threshold is more towards acceleration. I'm probably wrong just my opinion.
