Oh wow…I didnt know guys had the wrong number, wrong skin tone, wrong face, etc. I thought just their sizing was off. That is even worse than I expected. Now I really don’t want to start my Franchise.
Im honestly surprised I see people still doing Franchise mode, at all, with that major of an issue.

Some names are said for offensive only if you don’t edit the name first or last. In madden 19 & 20 when they started draft classes you could edit the names to ones the announcers would say. But typical madden took away in 21.

FWIW, if you use the computer generated classes, they're pretty much the same looks as the guys have been the last few years. And then you can edit any of them once they're on your team.

I don't believe any of the ones I've edited have changed after the fact. But, there's still the problem that so many of them look smaller and less strong than they should. Instead of the monster Ngata or Suh clones that we used to have, the guys look more around 250 lbs with the arms of a WR. And if that's how they come, you can't fix it.
Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

          I'm sorry, I don't quite understand.

Do names not get said if you edit the player?

If you don’t edit either the first or last name the name might be said but only for offensive player. Say you draft a QB named Mike Jones they will say Jones. But if you edit his name they won’t say it. So stupid because when they first launched draft classes you could edit a players name to one the announcers would say.
