Raging after playing the Bengals (franchise mode)

I play on all madden as the colts in franchise mode. Went into week 12 as the top ranked defense and 11-0 record. I lost to the bengals 38-49! Never had so much trouble stopping AI offense my entire life. I tried everything and literally nothing worked to stop Burrow. His offensive line and WR’s are crazy. Leading the league in sacks and was only able to get to him once. Anyone have any advice? Just mind blown right now. #1 pass defense and I gave up like 450 yards passing. Not usually bothered by losing but I literally had no answer. It was close I kept trading TD’s until I threw an INT with 2min left and of course brrrr went down and scored to give them an 11pt win. He was legit in the zone almost the entire game.

Its ok to lose. Is this your first year? If so 11-0 with the Colts?!?!

If I started 11-0 with a team like the Colts (they're actually my franchise team this year and I'm 4-6 with them) in my first year, I probably would've restarted because it's just not realistic.

I think the '86 Bears had the same problem with a guy by the name of ... Marino.

and I think they were a smidge better than the 2023 Indy Colts.

You see the problem of not stopping the Bengals after you tried everything, most of us probably see the problem of being 11-0 with a team that has a better chance of being 0-11 this year.

Yeah it’s my first year in franchise but not in Madden. Although I didn’t play madden last year. I know it’s ok to lose it’s just that I had absolutely no answer for their offense.

I play the games in front of me on the hardest setting. I see no reason to restart.

I coach high school basketball, played sports for 30 years and change -

Sometimes nothing needs explained; some guys/teams just get hot or are so good that night there are no answers. Had kid go for 30 on my team two years ago and we tried every match-up, junk, double team imaginable and it didn't matter. Had a kid when I played go for 40+ against us in high school, same story - there was a reason he played D1. You tell me you've never seen a QB get hot and just dice up a defense, it isn't like Justin Fields threw for 400 it was a legit possible Hall of Famer down the line? Nothing needs explained, you got torched; it would be different if you were 3-8 giving up 400+ to every QB in the league.

You're 11-1 and you had a tough loss. Get your team ready for next week. Figure it out before you get fired. That's why they pay you the big bucks!

I'm only halfway joking with you lol...

You are 11-0 with a team that is not even playoff bound. Might want to edit the sliders even more then what they are now if you like realism

So...now we're telling other people how to play the game? Alright, guys.

OP - you lost a game, no big deal. Sometimes the other team just has a better day. As you're 11-1, you know it swings to your benefit too. There's nothing to rage about, overthink, or correct. You just got beat, it happens.

This thread is the problem with the overall sports game community in a nutshell.

Who cares if he's 11-0 in HIS franchise?

While I agree the original point is a little silly (OP, The Bengals are just damn good in this game. Them dropping 49 pts on you sounds about right), why does everyone comes out of the woodwork and scream "Maybe you should change your sliders, your WINNING too much!"

It's his franchise... He could drop the skill level down to Rookie if he wanted to...? All he wanted to know was why the Bengals are so damn hard to stop?

                          "But it's not REALISTIC!!!"

And not once in his original post did he imply he was looking for realism... You just harped on him for trying to enjoy (or in this case, understand) the game he probably spent close to ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS on.

Maybe I come from a different era where we didn't really care what other people did on their video games, as long as they weren't cheating online... But maybe I'm just out of touch these days and "having fun" isn't the ultimate goal anymore

You tried to post as a great peacemaker and philosopher yet he’s the one that brought the “topic” to a message board. Maybe you’re actually reeeeallly in touch these days b/c you don’t understand why there was some negative feedback. See Back in my day - we understood when you voiced an opinion in a public forum it wasn’t expected to be agreed upon by the masses. What’s the point of a message board if people don’t voice their opinions? What’s he looking for then? He got torched by a team w/ some of the best football weapons on the planet on a game that can be difficult to play pass defense on. The only answer to his gripe is to mess with difficulty sliders/gameplay options, obviously he is a guru schematically and stick-skill wise b/c he was 11-0 with the Colts!
