Assistant Coaches

I play with coach firing off but I had a quick question. Have any of you ever had one of your assistant coaches ever hired away to be a HC? I know sometimes older coaches will retire but since I play with coach firing off I really won’t see coaches get fired but I’m curious if you have ever seen your own OC or DC hired away as a HC

Yes both my OC and DC was hired away

Did you have coach firing on? Or did you have it off?

I had it on but I'd firing is off and acoach retired then I could also see them be hired away

Yes, and it is one of those things that doesn't make sense since different roles have different progression trees and when you hire someone into a new position, you don't really get the final product, but if someone hires a coach from under you, you lose a final product.

But since you can just fire them and hire them back after the last game/super bowl, it's easily bypassable. Slightly annoying, but not anywhere close to the biggest issue.

Question what progression speed do you guys use for progressing your assistants? I use the slowest speed because I think its too easy to upgrade them as it is and as "human" players I dont think we need any extra advantages. Also I would think if we dont progress them a lot we are less likely to have them hired away anyway

I play with HC firing off and HC still get fired. Every year.

Are you sure that you don't see coaches get fired? I played with Coach Firing Off for years now and every year it doesn't work, CPU HCs still get fired, same this year.

I was under the impression that coach firing = OFF only saved yourself.

Yeah and I think it works that way. But there is an extra setting named CPU Only, which is supposed to be the one to save only the User. So to have it on OFF should also prevent the CPU from getting fired, but it doesn't unfortunately.

I have firing off and I just had to replace both my OC and DC after year 3.

Because they were fired? And if so who fired them?
Shouldn’t coordinators firings be at the head coach discretion?

I went 15-2 and they got HC gigs......I was gonna keep them as long as I could because I had their talent trees built up pretty nicely.
