    Dallas or Miami users

how in the heck do you handle the CAP, neither team has $$ to resign players. Plus at the end of the year no $$$ to sign FA.

Restructure contracts. For Dallas, Dak, DLaw, Tyron Smith or Zack Martin frees up a lot of space

He’s right. I have played Madden for 20+ years and didn’t know that you could restructure contracts. Under “Manage Roster,” go to “Team Salaries.” If you scroll through the players, you will see an option at the bottom of the screen to restructure a player’s contract if they are eligible (triangle in PS4/5).

Thanks for that information. I don’t feel so stupid now.

I had to end up restarting with Miami- I forgot to restructure guys and ended up in salary cap hell. I cut pretty much everybody I could and still couldn’t get under the cap.

Contract restructure is one of the best and most immersive features the team has added in years for people who like playing NFL-GM style franchises. Gives you short-term flexibility with long-term repercussions.

It's tough as Dallas, and you have to be very selective about re-signing older vets. I let at least Gilmore and Kearse go after year 1. That meant changes to D, as with Kearse as sub-LB you could play man coverage very effectively.

                  Re: Dallas or Miami users

As Cowboys, my focus is resigning Tyron Smith if he keeps his abilities at resign stage. At this stage you can cut the punter, and a couple others and restructure Diggs too.

During the season I resign Igbinoghene to a 4 year 3 mil total deal.

Knowing I will be losing Gilmore it is crucial to sort out future CB’s. So training camp I do both Bland and Igbinoghene.

Throughout the season my 6 focus players (unlock the 3 extra asap on coaching tree) in order are:
                  Trey Lance (3 years focus)
                  Noah Igbinoghene (2years)
                  Daron Bland (1)
                  Deuce Vaughn (4)
                  Mazi Smith (3)
Overshown/Asim Richards (depending on pre existing)

IMPORTANT: Always select “slot” when upgrading CB’s. I start Bland at slot CB but in one nickel formation I sub in Igbinoghene. In dime they both see the field. Igbinoghene will have 80 man coverage pretty soon and will overtake Bland in depth chart and be ready to start outside year 2 if we don’t draft anyone.

Set training to full pads and split reps except for QB, set to backup. (You might need to do the odd week or 2 at half reps if fatigue is showing). Doing this with Trey Lance as focus players and 3 training camp boosts he will be ready to start season 3 with around +9 skill points. Don’t accept his 5th year you can sign him to a cheaper deal.

DRAFT: Ideally we get a stud CB or HB. Also need a starting OL within the first 2 drafts if possible. But look at the class and set scouts accordingly. Worst case Deuce (roughly 75 OVR) can start year 2 but will need a decent enough back up (try and draft someone).

Season 1 roster is 100% the best and won’t be beaten. However season 3 is exciting again where the cap burden of season 2 is over and we’ve had 2 drafts and developed some nice young players 💪🏽

I forget to say I cut Jourdan Lewis early.
Also important to sign a QB mentor each season for Trey Lance.

Can’t seem to edit post but Igbinoghene is 4 years 12 total (3 mil per year 1.5/1.5)
