Superstar KO gone? "Failed to Start Game"

I can no longer find SSKO in the menu. There appears to be a multiplayer superstar game mode, but that's just The Yard rebranded.

Here's the thing, I could give a crap about KO mode. But when I received the "Failed to Start Game" error in H2H, the only way I was able to clear that issue was to play a game of KO to the conclusion and go back to H2H. If that's no longer an option, what is the fastest game mode? I tried quitting a SS game mode but it did not fix the problem.
