In What Ways Will Madden 25 Be Impacted By The Release Of The College Football Game?

Positively or Negatively? Talking year 1.

    1) Will sales be impacted now that people will have two legit games to choose from?

    2) Will Madden allow us to import draft classes from the college game?

    3) Will we be able to import a created player in Superstar Mode?

    4) Will Madden's release be pushed back closer to the start of the NFL regular season with the college game most likely dropping in July sometime?

    5) Will they even have a Beta test in June during the time major information about the college game will be coming out?

    1) I could see Madden sales being negatively impacted if NCAA is a good/great product

    2) Can't Draft classes already be imported to Madden?

    3) Seems like a no-brainer... but we all know who we are dealing with here

.. they keep wanting to make Madden 'story mode', no better chance than this. Make draft classes a living, breathing thing.

I can say with 100% confidence that this is my last Madden, granted the college gameplay, and Dynasty mode is as good/deeper than Madden.

Hopefully EA has taken the opportunity to have the CFB team rework some parts of the game, like line play, secondary play, or other areas and both Madden and the college game can benefit from these. Maybe they have spent the entire time working on college-specific items only, but I am hoping otherwise.

I don't anticipate Madden's sales being impacted enough to notice.

I would have to assume we'll be able to export draft classes like before. It would be a massive flop to lose that feature.

Considering EA uses the beta stuff as a marketing campaign, I wouldn't be surprised if they did a limited test with the college game. Say what you want about how EA handles the beta process, but it drives up hype for Madden each year.

I could see NCAA released in late July as was tradition before and Madden sticking to it's mid to late August release. I could also see NCAA having a voucher for a percentage off of Madden driving up sales for both.

              Yep

I was bummed that ncaa got pushed back a year because I had no intentions of getting M24

Although EA improved the gameplay on the field for madden this year I'm still pretty disappointed over the lack of atmosphere, Presentation and penalties once again.

I've been fighting myself to try and get a few months of gameplay out of madden to carry me closer to ncaa release.

Much like you if that ncaa game is lit there's a 10% chance I even pick up madden 25. I haven't skipped a madden game in years but ncaa would be the only football game I'd need next year especially if customization is allowed

I skipped Madden 13, 14, 25 (15) and 16 in favor of NCAA. If I had gotten my ASUS Rog Ally before Madden dropped, I would have skipped it in favor of 14 revamped.

I wouldn't mind gameplay being close to Madden, as like you, I find it very enjoyable. It's the Dynasty that gets me worried. I LOVED 14's Dynasty mode, I just want more depth and longevity. IMO they have had plenty of time to build this, and give some competition to Madden to up their game. You know as well as I do, it will cut into Madden sales.

I won't speak for others, but for me personally I likely won't buy Madden next year unless they add in some new feature that's really enticing. I bought Madden 23 outright (Xbox), before that I only had Madden 22 through Gamepass, and only bought Madden 21 because it was the first one on PC in forever. I don't have 24, and I generally only buy it every 2/3/4 years depending on the features added. With a new NCAA game I'll probably just elect to buy that, and remain on M23 and download updated user rosters as I only play Franchise anyway. I guess by that point M24 will be on Gamepass so I could do that as well, but not much changed between 23 and 24 and I don't really want to make an all new custom playbook so I'll probably just stay on 23.

If we're lucky, the College game will be awesome, and Ryan Day's cousin will go work for Tiburon and steal the code to use in Madden.

I think it will negatively impact sales, but maybe not by as much as some think. For me, I will never look back to Madden if the college game comes out yearly. Madden was always an every 4/5 year purchase for me anyway, as the college game was always more enjoyable.

The thing that might be good is that while both are owned by EA, this is competition for Madden. Maybe drive more innovation?

Can't see myself buying Madden next year unless CFB gets delayed again. I got it through gameshare this year but outside of that i've bought it every year since Madden 25.

Even if Madden does something insane with franchise and actually puts some effort in (LOL) I would rather skip a year and see what it looks like the following year. We always talk about a 2 year dev cycle for madden and i'll probably do the best simulation of that by alternating between CFB and Madden every other year.

Re: In What Ways Will Madden 25 Be Impacted By The Release Of The College Football Ga

I've always felt like the college game translated better to a franchise experience.

The more "wide-open" aesthetic of video game football is just a bit more 'believable' for the college game than the NFL.

And from a franchise experience, I personally find myself more engaged in college games where recruiting happens during the season (so you're engaged in team building throughout vs waiting until the off-season). And honestly, building a crappy college team is far more satisfying than "rebuilding" an NFL team. Even if the initial college game's franchise mode is less feature-rich than Madden's, I feel like I'll have more fun with it.

I'm not sure that Madden will be impacted all that much (though if they push Madden back 2-3 weeks, that could give devs a little extra time for polishing). There may be a small percentage of folks (I may be one of them) who will not buy Madden in lieu of the college game; but I figure most people will buy both.

I'll be very curious to see how it all shakes-out.
