I did play Madden 13 for PS3 a few weeks ago and was shockingly surprised at how much better it felt than Madden 24, at least to me. I just hate to have all this money invested in a PS5 and the new games to let them sit while I play games from 10 or 15 years ago. I almost try to force myself to enjoy the PS5 games, but something is definitely missing after I go back and play the older console ones. Still to this day nothing has come close to fun I had playing the old NCAA and Madden games on the PS2, especially NCAA 06 and Madden 2004 or 2005. Unfortunately, I don't have a working PS2 at the moment, nor do I know enough about the emulator to take a shot at that.

It just doesn’t make sense that the older games are so much better. I could be wrong but when I was playing madden on the ps2 and 360 I don’t recall getting title updates. Maybe back then the games had to be released in its best possible form. I really hope one day Madden becomes epic again. I did play last years game but got bored with it after 3 seasons in my franchise.

Re: Madden NFL 24 Update Fixes Fatigue Bug - Patch Notes
Ok so game play wise on 22, it seems good, my problem I have is all this text writing is all over the field, it makes it hard to see what in the world is going on, imo that was a horrible design and that is what is throwing me off.
I am seeing Percussions did a 1990 roster and Draft Classes looks to be available through 2014, that's heat right there in itself.
I purchased ea trial for a month, I'll mess around with it to see, if I really do like I'll have to find a hard copy as they do not offer madden 22 digitally anymore.
But I am seeing some very nice rosters in this, graphics are nice, I think there honestly just as as clean as 24 imo.
Edit. .
Ok something that really is bad bad bad...
You can't see how to make adjustments on Defense, there's this text box with a picture and you literally can't see, you might as well play with no adjustments ..
That right there alone is a major issue...
Ok so edit again...
Your able to dimiss all that text by clicking R3 on the controller...
That makes it better, as a Browns fan, they have the field art I like...
Percussions 1990 roster is magnificent in this game as well.
Player models are better and running mechanics seems looser but still impactfulLast edited by StormsWarning; 02-01-2024, 04:45 PM.I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

Nowadays, games are obviously able to push out much more frequent updates. Which has caused developers to take more of a "we can fix it later attitude.". But, in the old days, if something was broken, that was often just left in the game forever. So, it's kind of a mixed bag.

Re: Madden NFL 24 Adds Franchise Crossplay Live Beta & More - Patch Notes
I think the fatigue issue is clouding the improvements they made in other areas of the game. Now, because I'm a crazy person, I always start a dummy franchise whenever a patch comes out and put it on default. Maybe I have no life, I dunno.
But things that are sticking to me is one, run defense is finally a thing. I, like many of you had gotten tired of easily gaining 5 to 6 yards a carry, so much so that I would purposely avoid running in certain situations.
I now see lineman reaching out trying to tackle you, I'm seeing stalemates at the line, such that that the guard helping on a double team doesn't immediately peel off. And I'm noticing better pass coverage, Particularly with corners who have a higher man coverage rating to that of the receiver they're covering.
And the non engage pass rushing moves are a game changer. Parsons seems like even more of a beast now.
Although I did not like the fatigue adjustments in the patch prior to this one, I did like the gameplay improvements it brought. Specifically, on AP default, the cpu run defense was stronger and cpu rbs were hitting holes hard and making smart appropriate cuts. For once my run game was not over powered and the CPU’s run game was a threat. I feel like the most recent patch to fix fatigue has lost those gameplay improvements. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Re: Madden NFL 24 Adds Franchise Crossplay Live Beta & More - Patch Notes
I’m so sick of this game changing its gameplay with every patch. Last week this game played as well as it ever has for me (minus fatigue) and this week it’s the worst it’s played all year in my opinion. A story as old as time I know, but frustrating nonetheless. I shouldn’t have to disconnect my PS5 from the internet to avoid having the gameplay fundamentally change from patch to patch. Give me the option to pick which update works best for me or God forbid, make your sliders impactful enough to tailor the game to my liking.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 24 Update Fixes Fatigue Bug - Patch Notes
On the PS2/360, games only got one "free" update. Anything beyond that, they had to pay Microsoft (and maybe Sony) an apparently not inconsequential fee to roll out the update. So most games only got one update, and it would typically be a big one a couple months after release. And then that was it, unless maybe if that big update really broke something about the game.
Nowadays, games are obviously able to push out much more frequent updates. Which has caused developers to take more of a "we can fix it later attitude.". But, in the old days, if something was broken, that was often just left in the game forever. So, it's kind of a mixed bag.

Speaking of fatigue, I'm looking for good sub settings. My backup RB never gets in the game, which results in my starting RB getting way more carries per game than he should. Fatigue never seems to be an issue.Comment

Game hasn't been the same since these updates. I ended up shelving it. I swear it happens every year..Comment

Re: Madden NFL 24 Adds Franchise Crossplay Live Beta & More - Patch Notes
Games havent been the same since patches were introduced. It went from putting out a more solid, tested product because that was what they were selling. To, just throwing something out there because we can just patch the problem in or fix it next year, then forget to fix it. Its all games, not just Madden.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment
