Re: Madden 25 Franchise Mode and Presentation Updates

I like what I read in gridiron notes. They talk about better AI logic in team management, FA signing and draft, and also the possibility to see rookies rise quickly. This would be a huge plus for immersion and a franchise mode looking more like NFL. Of course, you gotta see how it'll really work, but at least they said they worked on it. I didn't expected it, because those are not visual flashy new features.

Please, do it right and make the CPU making good playcalling in-game, no non-sense bug like injuries not working or QB waiting forever for the sack, and M25 will be a great opus to me.

We also included 34 classic tracks as stadium music, some of which we brought back from previous Madden games. Prepare for nostalgia when The Hives and their song “Tick Tick Boom” transport you back to Madden NFL 08!

It’s worth noting you can go to our Music setting and choose from our classic tracks to add them to our soundtrack.

Of all the takes that are made on these boards for the various sports, one's like these are the absolute worst. You literally have no evidence to back up these guys being "lazy". In your post before this, you call them lazy. When you find out differently, you claim they were forced because of the other dev team.

Please be better than this. I'm not trying to play gatekeeper. I'm just saying calling guys who put hundreds upon hundreds of hours to make games lazy is, in of itself, a lazy take.

You know why? Because franchise modes ARE role playing games!!!

Even if you take out things like scenarios/storylines, you are LITERALLY role playing as a coach/GM, you make decisions that shape the outcome of the story, you face adversity and you and your team grow along during the journey.

That's the entire point of the experience....for YOU as the user to roleplay as the HC/GM of a football team....

          It's never been a "simulator"....

Don't know if this was said, but it was nice to see Justin Jefferson have his tiny dreads hanging out the back of his helmet. So hopefully this means other guys with short dreads can rock this.

Re: Madden 25 Franchise Mode and Presentation Updates

I know this likely never happens, and that depresses me, but with Looman in charge I'd love to see the game really strive to be more like what Head Coach was and what it would have evolved into today if it had never gone away.

Players having to learn the playbooks, setting up the weekly schedule, making a big part of the gameplay loop be the in-week stuff while gameday was the reward, etc. There needs to be more engagement off the field, and it needs to matter.

Simply put, a lot more depth is needed in that department, and it needs to have varying levels of automation for those that essentially want to just play the actual games and do very little in-between. It's been far too long that we've been forced to essentially play a list of Play Now games with some small hints of it being a franchise mode. We need significant amounts of depth with options for those that don't want to fool with it all. Then, you please all crowds. When you keep the mode so simple, you're just pleasing the play now franchise crowd and leaving people like myself left wanting a whole lot more.

I get it, I'm not likely the average fan of the game. The average player probably doesn't care if they have expanded coaching staffs, they probably don't even know if they'd like a feature where players had to learn the playbooks, etc.

With what they have added to the off-field side of the game, it looked pretty cheesy off the bat. But, it could still be good if done right. However, it seems like based off the wording the CPU teams will still not get scenarios and the majority of scenarios look like they are simply morale/ratings boosts or dev trait boosts. It remains simple and gives the user a gigantic advantage in a franchise when they get all these chances for these boosts while the CPU teams don't.

I don't think Madden is a bad game. I think the gameplay has been improving on the current generation of consoles. I just think if it weren't for The Show, Madden would have the most boring franchise mode of them all and I really wish it were different. I wish the depth 2k had was the minimum expectations for Madden's franchise mode and they really strove to not only get to that level, but far surpass it and please the diehard franchise fans that want a lot more nitty gritty depth to the mode.

I want coaching staffs, I want to deal with figuring out a basic practice schedule for my team, I want to read legit scouting reports on the opposition, I want them to have the AI capabilities to scout me before a game, I want them to have advanced AI that makes it feel like playing the CPU is like playing a real person in franchise mode, etc.

It just seems like none of that is what EA wants, though. If the gameplay is as good as the beta made me believe it could be, and I can get sliders in a place where I feel it's as fun and as challenging as I have CFB25, then I will still be able to get deeper into a franchise off the gameplay alone. I just wish it wasn't that gameplay on the field that drove me to go years into a franchise mode. I wish there was depth that made me feel engaged and like I was part of a living breathing universe as an actual coach of a team.

How about the injury system from HC09.

I mean that area needs a revamp as well. Wear and tear in CFB is a great step in that direction.

I think we can see things happening in that direction.

I'm excited but why is EA so restrictive. How long have we not been able to play non user team games on the schedule? I think their making big strides in a positive direction. Regarding team builder will we be able to expand the league or just swap teams. Things like that make the game feel restrictive

The EA team never does anything that makes you drop your jaw.. it's the same little improvements each and every year.

I'm meh on this tbh, where are the HUGE improvements to Madden?

The Show is the king of sports games and honestly I don't think I'll purchase M25, I'll wait until it's on EA play for free.

I think storylines and scenarios being completely reworked can be a significant change.

I do agree that I wish the CPU teams around the league had a sim engine for scenarios for them that we could read about in our news feed. That would be icing on the cake.

But I can easily feel the enthusiasm in this blog from Josh Looman and the amount of work that went into revamping the franchise experience.

Storylines to me is the foundation of having a rich franchise experience. Whether they evolve from the scenario engine or my own storytelling.

That’s why I am so excited about this new Draft presentation and multiple broadcast teams.

It helps a ton with immersion and feeling like we have a living and breathing league each week.
