I agree with your main point. When I play Madden 25 I don’t feel like I have to “outsmart” the AI. College football is much better at replicating the X and O’s while Madden is more about the jimmys and joes.
I made this point in another thread, but Madden and CFB25 both are trying to accomplish different goals. Madden is a great game if you want to play with a friend on the couch, or against someone online. If you’re looking for a game that will try and replicate the real strategy of football Madden isn’t it. It doesn’t even remotely do a good job at this. I didn’t even realize how bad it had gotten until I played CFB 25. It was definitely my red pill/blue pill moment.
The part I don’t understand is there are literally settings in place to give people the the different experiences they want (simulation/competitive/arcade), yet madden just refuses to think outside the one size fits all template
