Hey ren, what negative influences were you seeing with coverage and reaction on 51?

I will say I do one thing that may be unordinary. If I'm in a man defense sometimes I manually cover the most inner receiver/TE. Typically that guy comes open the fastest so shutting him down usually lets the pass rush get at least some pressure.
I like that tactic of taking a specific receiver out of the game, by user-ing a DB or a LB. I need to get better at that.

I just haven't gotten enough game time in to be chiming in with any substance yet.

But Jason and I have been steady, and this set looks so dead on.

It's feels like a touch of redemption for how we chased our GD tails all of last year.

I should get a good 5-6 hours in tonight at work.

Oh man, last year - what a train wreck. I couldn't wrap my head around Madden 19. The potential was there, but it never quite came to fruition for me.

We're in good shape here. I think it's just fine tuning from here on out. Seasoning and sauce up as needed to complete the dish.

Let me know how you make out with it.

I liked the added level of tightness that it brought in, but it made the CPU QBs too conservative. They were completing a high percentage of passes at a low YPA. The idea of the 51's was to be able to utilize 50 QBA for the CPU. Personally, I like both PDRT and Coverage at 50, with the mask and DPI values that we have. The game inherently plays tighter on AM, so I'm not sure the added coverage is all that necessary. However, we need to play with a reduced QBA for the CPU if we leave the default 50's for the defensive pass sliders.

Darth Raider is still looking at 51 for PDRT / Coverage (possibly isolated to one of them). I'm going to sit back on that for now, and fine tune Mask and DPI. I think 35 mask and 65 DPI might be the sweet spot. I'll roll with 21 QBA for the CPU, for the time being.

The other thing we will look at tonight is ballhawk. I know the All Pro guys are playing with it on. I'm not sure it is needed on All Madden, due to the defenders being inherently (that word again) more aggressive. With it off, I am seeing good coverage, but without those super human INTs that make no sense. I would like to see what ballhawk being on does to coverage in AM. I played around with it briefly during the beta, but didn't really spend much time evaluating it.

              Thanks for the feedback.
Usually when trying new sliders the first quarter can be wonky and makes you think that the sliders aren't good but you just have to finish the game because most likely it will smooth itself out.

The game got better for me though cousins was still throwing high %, just have to figure out if we need to work with the reaction/pass cov slider or the penalty slider or just need to get more pressure to help off set throws

Also might have to look into the INT slider, i know in last years madden that slider played a big role in coverage

We're not really looking to change many sliders or settings this year. The idea is to keep it as simple as possible, so that it can transfer over patch-to-patch. Obviously there may still be some fine tuning needed as patches are released.

You are more than welcome to move any slider or change any setting that you'd like, and I'd welcome any feedback from your changes. The whole idea with this set is to put something out that can be used globally, but then have season-to-taste added for any user. Just know that if you change anything (even one slider), you'll get different gameplay, results, and outcomes... which is kind of the idea by making your own changes.

                    Final testing will commence tonight.

Looking to nail down mask and DPI.

Also evaluating OPI on vs off.

Everything else is basically locked... we did change Fatigue to 50 / 55 (updated on the OP).

                    Franchise starts tomorrow.

Wow!! I just played my first few quarters with these sliders and I am really impressed almost feels like a patch for the pass coverage it is so good. The only thing I dont like is the QB accuracy its still too accurate for my personal taste at least for the User but I can adjust that on my own such a great base!! Thanks

The penalty and gameplay sliders are locked.

I am still testing two penalty toggles: OPI On vs. Off and Ineligible Man Downfield On vs. Off.

With Mask at 30 / 30 and DPI at 70 / 70 that I had previously been running, I am suddenly seeing much heavier defensive pursuit, yielding quite a few more TFL than I was previously. I believe that is due to OPI being tested off and / or IMD being tested on (in game).

I have to give full credit to Josh for finding the Ineligible Man Downfield penalty toggle. This is set to On by default in the MM, but is absent in the CFM slider menu. However, it does show up in game (check the penalty slider menu when you are in a game), but it's toggled off. You have to manually toggle it on (in game) if you want it to take effect. When you toggle it back on, you appear to get more defense. Depending on your other settings, this could be a good thing for you or it could be a bad thing for you.

Ultimately, while I like the idea of OPI off, and turning IMD on, I'm not sure they work for this set. Those are literally the last two pieces to this equation. The set is otherwise locked down.

The OP is updated, noting the testing of OPI and IMD.

Heads up: The Day One Patch is scheduled to drop tomorrow. Milticket brought this to my attention.

I am planning on getting a keeper franchise underway this weekend, whether or not we iron out the above mentioned penalty toggles, or knowing that we have a big patch dropping. We'll be in good shape with this set regardless.

So with the qb acc set to 21 the passes still seem okay? Like not all conservative?

Not trying to take over your slider page but wanted to get others thoughts on something. I've been running with your 51 Reaction time/Pass coverage with 50 QB Acc and 20 PBK. I have Mask/DPI split of 40/60. Everything else is the same as your current slides.

My 7 games of running with this here are my opposing QBs #s.

                            Garoppolo 25-34 73% 255 YD 1 TD 1 INT
                            Wilson 13-26 50% 90 YD 0 TD 2 INT
                            Brady 28-37 75% 278 YD 2 TD 5 INT
                            Flacco 20-35 57% 150 YD 0 TD 2 INT
                            Allen 24-35 68% 220 YD 1 TD 3 INT
                            RoethlisB 30-40 75% 261 YD 1 TD 1 INT
                            Fitzpat 25-37 67% 295 YD 2 TD 1 INT

                            Totals 165-244 68% 221 YDs/GM 6 TD 15 INT

I like where the Completion % is at but want to see a slight increase in YDs and definitely an increase in TDs and decrease in INTs. The CPU really struggles versus man defense and has most of its success against zone defense.

Don't know if you remember but were you seeing similar to this when you still had those settings? Did moving to your current slides make the passing easier or harder for you? Any suggestions? I really like the way the game is playing with what I have but don't like the TD/INT ratio currently. Getting rid of a few of the picks would probably also help up the yards slightly.

I didn't like messing with PDRT or Coverage. Moving one of both of those to 51 borked everything. CPU QBs were way too conservative. Go back to what is on the OP if you're looking to improve CPU QB play. That is where we are at from here on out. This set is locked, loaded, and ready to roll.

As always, if you need more or less of anything, feel free to make your own changes. This set is a solid base as a whole.

At CPU QBA @ 21, I see some great and unique QB play. Rodgers shredded me last night (I was CHI), and I kept Baker in check (I was TEN). The sweet spot for this slider relative to this set is 21-23; I have settled on 21.
