Re: Armor & Swords Pro Custom Madden 23 Simulation Sliders For PS5/X Franchise Mode

    Armor,
I loaded your sliders exactly as you have them and played a full game as the Browns in my existing franchise against the Patriots. I was already in Pro mode for my offline franchise using sliders that benefited the CPU, to try to make it competitive but I was still winning too much and ultimately felt the momentum meter was having too strong of an effect. Most games had a competitive first half and then I'd go off and win the second half big-time having all the momentum, which seemed to make the CPU QB brain dead and incompetent the rest of the game. Anyway.....

I loaded your settings, even though some of them seem very extreme . But....I wanted a challenge. And I got one. The only issues I really saw were these:

CPU QB was kind of in RoboQB mode all game. I think he was like 26-30 for 235 yds and 3TDs. No interceptions. Their running back would break 2-3 tackles regularly and it was hard to stop them at all. On the opposite side my running backs and receivers would always go down on first contact. Usually some massive WWE explosive hit as well. It made it harder on defense but didn't feel organic to me.

Finally, I had very little, if any pressure on the QB all game. Myles Garret had no pressures or sacks and the only sack I got was late in the game when I ran a zone and blanketed all receivers and one of the DTs got a coverage sack.

So.....I like them a lot, but I am wondering what tweaks I can make to maybe correct a few of these deficiencies without going to far back to making it easy? I'd like to decrease the CPU pass block so that Myles Garret and company could at least pressure QB, maybe get a sack here and there, and perhaps force the QB into some incompletions now and again. Worried even minor tweaks will make them anemic again.

    Thanks man!

Re: Armor & Swords Pro Custom Madden 23 Simulation Sliders For PS5/X Franchise Mode

I set up these sliders a few days ago and have played two games so far. I randomly picked the Jets at the start of the season and currently sit at 4-4. I don't do the 32 team control and I also set the franchise items to simple, so I'm the coach not the GM. This is basically just to play some games and figure out what sliders to use.

Anyway, on the field, I really think a key is using the All-22 camera on offense. I've thrown 1 pick in the two games with Zach Wilson which was totally my fault. Previous to this I had 11 picks in 4 games. I feel you have a better perception on where to put the ball - in fact I'm wondering if the new passing options make it too easy to do so with a lesser QB. Wilson threw 5 TD passes in this game with no INTs.

I've always played on All-Pro, but moved it to Pro and follow these sliders completely. I beat the Broncos in Denver in a tight one (with no turnover issues) but then destroyed the Pats in NJ 55-7. Mac Jones threw 3 ints, Stephenson lost a fumble, and the Pats touched a punt that was sitting at their 3 yard line that the Jets recovered so the score got inflated even more. I also had full momentum for most of the game.

I'm curious what you think of the new QB controls, while I like that you have more control of where the ball goes, I'm wondering if this will make the QB ratings almost inconsequential. Though I guess the flip side of that is it was really always that way - if you made dumb decisions with Aaron Rodgers you would throw way more INTs than he does.

You are having a different experience then me. I to agree these are good. My problem is my QB offense is to powerful. My RB is about Avg I am in week 13 going to finish out the season without modifying the sliders but I think I might need to drop the Human QBA to like 6-7. As for the CPU I have noticed only the Good QBS are kinda Robo. I personally think that is due to the CPU being on 85 QBA. I am considering raising that up to 95 In my opinion 95 value makes them less conservative on the short passing they take more chances leading to a lower competition percentage. That has been my experience.

As for the Pressure you speak of. In week 11 My team had a total of 52-55 sacks somewhere in that neighborhood. Also I think the CPU QBA at 85 allows more sacks vs 95 because they hold on to ball longer.

Other then What I just said even though I am undefeated 12-0 these play great. There has been a few games I played they I almost lost because it took me until the 4th Quarter to pull ahead and win the game.

For my next season I think I will put Human QBA @7
and CPU QBAbat 95 play a full season and compare my results.

I do not use the new controls.....and in fact I encourage folks to stick with classic passing for this slider set.

I can’t play on All-Pro because I play no switch and that simply will not work above Pro level now......design decision by EA.

I am making the best of it with 23......it has some big warts like the CPU Int problem and the Momentum Meter which is IMO a broken feature that is causing all kinds issues for the AI.

Despite those two warts I am in Year 3 of my Dolphins franchise....having fun and just going with it.

These sliders are about as hard as they can possibly be at the Pro level.....and there are going to be games to absolutely dominate....some you will lose some you will be tight great games....you will get the variety if you play no switch and use your entire playbook.

For some reason I thought you were using the new passing option but I just check the first post and it's not mentioned. My bad there.
I generally play no-switch, besides playing with the D-camera it's hard to anyhow. I don't manually pick or catch.

I really like the general feel of the sliders (yes, last game got out of hand but that happens). I'll try classic passing tonight which I'm thinking will make Zach Wilson feel less like a stud.

I've been testing to get the CPU to split HB carries, I edited attributes to move RBs up the depth chart for 3DRB and PWRB. However, I don't think the CPU utilizes these positions when simming. The RBs at the top of the depth chart for these positions are still getting 10-12 carries for the year.
Have you ever tested this, or do you have any knowledge on this?

As I have said many times. I set up formation subs for every team in 32 team control so the back up RB/RB’s get carries.

I don’t rely on auto subs or the CPU logic. Been doing this since Madden 17 when they brought back formation subs.

On Madden 16 fatigue and autosubs actually worked!!

Is anyone getting WR breakout senarios?

I have 2 games left of the season and I have a Rookie WR when it comes to season and game records has broken all but 2

                      1. In game WR TD is tied with 5
2 Season WR TD is currently at 17

Not 1 breakout Senario yet. The closest I have come is Attribute upgrade senarios for him.

I might have missed this info in the OP, but do we still set up formation subs for this weeks opponents if we only control 1 team?

Also, I am pretty sure I actually saw someone on my dline get subbed due to fatigue. Suddenly my backup DE was in on a play, and I am 98% sure that I don't have him at rush DE.
On the previous play, my starting DE had 1 of 3 of the little green bars left above him, and on the next play he was replaced. Might have been something else, though.

Yes if your playing an offline single team control….create the head coach of your opponent (just use the existing HC) set up the formation subs then retire. They will stick.

Those green bars are pass rush moves left.

Those green bars are pass rush moves left.

I always wondered what they were for - so you only get a quota of pass rush moved per player? LT would like a word...

What do the red ones mean for the O-Line?

Everytime they keep you from getting a pressure they gain a push back (for lack of a better term) point. It’s actually a wonderful mini game within the game. I love the whole trench battle system.
