The thing about Madden is we're actually paying more for less IMO. Features are starting to come back but there are still some things missing in the next gen versions, and now EA really has no excuse. It just makes you wonder.

I tried to have hope when it was 1st announced, as soon as screens and videos of 06 surfaced, that hope faded quickly.

I'm one of them.

There was really nothing else you could do. Once you knew 2k football was dead, you either had hope or you got out of football gaming.

Once I saw the videos, I knew it was going to be disastrous for while.

Because it was ridculous to believe that, especially when they didn't put that many improvements in their game when they had competition.

I'm one of the people who was against it for day one, but I don't blame the madden fans for being optimistic. Their game won the EA/2k war, but even madden fans are gamers who just probably hoped the best for their game.

EA can put out amazing games when they want. They choose to slack off and buy licenses for the sports genres though. They even dumped movie licenses that are guaranteed sales, and would let them do the same slacking off in other areas. So EA isn't all bad.

Yea basically. Might as well always hope for the best but, the way things are now, I can't even have hope for what I want from a Madden game. EA and myself have very different views on what makes a good football game.

Yea EA makes some titles I enjoy. It's just EA sports I have a problem with. Well actually its just the sports I'm a serious fan of, basketball and football. I enjoy NHL and Fifa.

well they have the tools to do so. They even said how much easier it is to deal with ESPN and the NFL with exclusive licenses. That's true, but they don't use their resources at all.

EA, or criterion, makes the only burnout style game, yet that game keeps improving and changing each time without competition from really anyone. So there is precedent for EA pushing their games regardless of competition. They just chose not to for Madden and a number of their sports games.

I don't prefer to buy their sports games, but they do put out games that are as good, or better than anything else out in a number of genres. I don't hate EA, but only mediocre EA games.

Hold your judgement till the game comes out, then if you don't like it you can come on this board and talk all the sh** you want to about it. And for the people who are on my side, we as Madden fans will never win aganist these 2k fanbots that just sit on boards and talk sh** about Madden becasue they don't have 2k5 to play anymore.Im suprised that nobody on this board has had the balls to step up and say "I like madden". Well I'll say it " I like Madden and Madden 09 will be great".

he was actually talking about back when EA bought the nfl license, so technically, it was the truth. Even madden fans can agree that since then, they have done nothing but sit with their fists in their *** with madden.

They have the nfl and ESPN, but do nothing much with it each year. They could have at least gone with NFL Network announcers than a radio guy.

I still play 2k5 and I'm not talking about Madden 09(even though it probably won't be that great).
