Re: Quick patch 2 update from EA
If you've done any player editing at all (even just jersey numbers), you're going to want to restart your franchise anyway once the new patch is released. They fixed the problematic (non-existent) progression for any players who have been edited.
That, alone, is reason enough for me to restart. I don't edit player ratings or anything, only jersey numbers. Can't very well have someone wearing #12 or #78 on my Buffalo Bills, lol.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA
Maybe my calendar skills suck but Ian said the patch would be submitted tomorrow Sept. 5 and he said MS/Sony would take 2-3 weeks. That means at the earliest we would get the patch Sept 19th and the latest we will get it is the 26th. I dont know where you got the first week of Oct.
Again this is just my analyze of what Ian postedComment

Look what happened with NCAA.
So, for someone to say, patch first week of Oct., it's definitely reasonable.

I said in an earlier post way back when the DLC was announced that I did not think we would ever see it. Why wasn't it mentioned in Ian's post?? This is a classic EA move. They will say "well, Microsoft said no". They never had any intention of doing the DLC. It was just lip service.
Prove me wrong Ian.Homer: "Come on Denver, justify my love!"
TV Announcer: "...and at the end of 13 seconds of play the score is New England 7, Denver 0"

Re: Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA
Thanks for the update.
A few questions. They've been asked already, but I've yet to see an answer so I'll ask again.
1. What did you find caused the franchise freezing? Is it just a bug? Is there something we can do pre-patch to avoid freezing?
2. With the patch now fixing the freezing issue, will it still work on existing franchises?
I don't particularly want to start a new franchise. I did no player editing, so I'm fine with playing while I wait for the patch, provided my franchise won't freeze.
Thanks again.Comment

That's the kind of stuff mods are trying to eliminate.
You CAN voice your opinion, even if its not glowing about EA. However, you have to keep it civil just as you would in a business setting. It's not that hard.
Here's what you could have said:
"When I first heard about DLC I thought it was a great idea. At the same time, I was was a little skeptical. I was hoping it wasn't just a hyped feature that would never be made available.
So, when I didn't see mention of it in Ian's post I got a little nervous. Ian, do you feel we are still on track to get the DLC?"
Same thought, different wording. Hope this helps you in the future.
We are fortunate that both SCEA and EA people post here, answer questions here, and take suggestions here. I, for one, want to keep these guys here. They will answer the tough questions as long as we act professional.Last edited by slthree; 09-04-2008, 07:36 PM.Comment
