As for the Oline Pass Blocking, 2k8 is about a year or two ahead of Madden IMO. Right now I wouldn't expect Madden's to have double team pass blocking by Offensive linemen. They don't have the next step in the logic for it. I don't think it is a great idea to have double team pass blocking just for the sake of having it, and not have "pass defender off" logic. The thing with 2k8's is they have that. So double teams are one thing, but if you delay blitz in 2k8 even if a Dlineman gets doubled initially, one of the Olinemen can still peel off the double and pick up the blitzer who is coming in late. Now take that same scenario and put it in Madden without "pass defender off" logic. You would die.Comment

Usually the RT will take the inside pressure if the LB is showing blitz uptight. That inside LB will get to the qb faster then the end so you have to protect that area first.
He will usually drop kick and take a peak at the LB because he knows he will have a back to the outside of him to help with the end.
The drawing shows a classic 4 weak blitz opportunity. In my old playing days we would use two protections for that, 80 (the weak side of the line to the Center would slide left and the back would be responsible for the weakside lb
Or I would RIP and LIZ the protection to the side of the 4 Weak blitz. That would send the entire line sliding to one side or the other and the back would take the end. If the tackle could he would help with the back but his first responsibility was inside.
The 80 protection was a 5 step protection and the RIP and LIZ were usually audibles for quicker throws.What have you done for me lately!Comment

The reason why I asked you about the tackles picking up inside blitzes is because this happen in APF2k8. I thought it was a flaw but I was practicing against 3-4 blitzes. I am running the I-formation and my tackle would pick up the inside blitz while my fullback would block towards the outside. If only I had video captioning I would post this play.
I am just happy that thee Madden team is really thinking about offensive line play.

Another problem that has been in all of the Madden games which I am hoping Pro-Tak will address is running line stunts vs the run.
What the diagram here shows is a line stunt called to crash to the left of the offense with your strong side outside backer also crashing with the line. Now in previous Madden's when you made a call like this the Dline had no movement whatsoever. While you called crash left, once the ball was hiked they did not crash. They basically got stood up and suctioned. So calling line crashes were very ineffective against the run. You can't allow the offensive line to say, well we are running this play and you are lined up in front of me so I can't let you move otherwise we will have nothing that somewhat mimics a run fit.
I forgot to check this at CD,hopefully Pro-Tak will solve this problem.

See in the diagram you have the NT slanting to the weak side A gap and the strong side T/DE slanting to the strong side B gap and the weak side T/DE playing the weak side off tackle C. In the past Madden games, those players would never fire into those gaps against the run because as soon as the ball was snapped the Olinemen would simply hoover them in and stand them up. What I am hoping for is if I make a call like this against the run that those players will have movement and hit those gaps, otherwise we will not have much of anything that will mimic a run fit. To say it another way, don't let the offensive line control the movement of my defensive line, "just because."Comment
