Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
No contracts seems like a glaring omission. It is hard to understand how they did not get it in, wether they ran out of time or it was more complicated than they thought. A lot of people here are optimistic that something will get done, but I have a feeling they will be very disappointed when it remains as is.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
I went from buying 3 copies of this game to none at all. I'm not wasting money on Madden again. I have bought every Madden since the original but this last version I only played for a month and then stopped b/c it got boring. I will pass on Madden and buy NCAA instead. The contracts, draft and trades is what makes Franchise so much fun, I can't believe EA would leave this out of a franchise. I just went from requesting a week off from work around 8/14 to taking it in July instead. EA lets us down again.
After putting up this post I was reading that it looks like the commish will have alot of options. So I am once again going to buy all 3 copies. I am a Madden slave.Last edited by xxxGODFATHERxxx; 06-07-2009, 08:44 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
Dude, you need to take a deep breath and chill out. You went from planning a vacation around this game and buying 3 copies to readjusting your vacation cause the features you wanted in the game weren't in. WTF is wrong with you? Its just a video game. Life goes on my man. John Madden, Ian cummings, Madden 2010, doesnt care about you, its not personal. you shouldnt care so much about them.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
With no trade and cap logic and no contracts, this qualifies in my mind as a broken feature. It would be better not to have it, imo.
I think the language of "broken" gets abused when evaluating games, but this seems like a legitimate application to me, and I think gamers should call EA out on this one.
We may yet receive news about additions to the mode, but right now the omissions are egregious.Comment

As much as I like about this year, as Pasta described it, what we are getting cannot legitimately be called a "franchise."

The Cap? Yea thats not all that great. Leagues as they are now, the only way your players get better is when they do good in real life. Then on top of that no one gets hurt. Now you can put players out for weeks, and the season. With rules in your league it can work, and still be fun.
Trade logic? Its an online franchise, ONLINE FRANCHISE. Most leagues has 32 players, no room to trade with a cpu team. You should be trading with real people, so his trade logic is not the same as yours. If it was no trades will be made. Then if someone get kicked out the league you dont trade with that team, till a new owner is found. Ill take this any day over what we have today. Then add the drafts, and seeing the rookies you pick get better, and your bud draft a bust. priceless
If you need that stuff, that bad play offline. ITS THEREComment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
I think you are a lil hard at this point. Its online franchise, to take the place of league daddy, and others sites we use. Playing in leagues you have to input stats after you play your games, now thats gone. No draft, and a re-draft for team after every season.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
If it's Online Franchise to take the place of league daddy then it's another Online League like Autumn Wind said dude you just ethered yourself. Also contrary to your statement most Online Franchises are not going to have 32 players so having the computer use some basic form of Cap or Trade Logic to manage the CPU controlled teams is essential. No one is being hard at this point, we are commenting on the confirmed aspects of the Online Franchise. When we get an official word that they are working to rectify this stuff we will chill out.
What leagues are you in? We have 6, 32 teams leagues at http://ps3onlinemaddenleagues.com/. Its alot more on leaguedaddy, and some here at OS. I like it better this way, then to try and put everything in and nothing works. Then we have to stay with what we have now. So you let me know? Online Leagues(Franchise) to where you can trade and draft, that works. Or have a cap and trade logic that dont?
Let me know
Did you see my 1st post b4 his?
no i dont think so. It looks like OF is a updated online leagues from madden 09. but, well find out soon.Last edited by TyghtWork; 06-08-2009, 03:55 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
I'm not in any leagues because I don't play Madden '09, I sold the game a month after I bought it due to Online Dynasty on NCAA. In my experience with those Dynasties the most i have seen is 8 people.
I'd rather have an Online Franchise that has both. If it doesn't I just won't spend the money, that's the third alternative. It's not that I'm saying the game sucks, but why purchase something that doesn't meet your standards. That's the power of the consumer. Hell I ant to buy the game bad as hell, but football by myself is just something I cant fathom.Last edited by FadeEmAll; 06-08-2009, 04:11 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion
It's basically "Online LEAGUE" with the added ability of having a draft and rolling over into next season. While I would be ecstatic to see an actual "Online FRANCHISE" with trades, contracts, salary cap, etc... it still beats the hell out of using LD, so in that alone... I am thankful. There's still a lot of development time left, so this thing could still change dramatically by the time we see it in August, so no since getting into a pisssy mood over this early build. I am sure they are probably working on it, but they can't come out and say that it will be there until it is done and they are 100% sure. Else all the drama queens at OS will fly off the handle if they say caps and trade logic will be there and then it's not in the game.
On to other things rather than kicking the same dead horse. Anyone heard anything on in season scouting? Since theirs a draft, I assume there is some way to scout during the season?
Also, I assume players will retire and that might be your only need to fill spots with no contracts? Players will retire right?Comment
