Well he was just on here like 10 min ago and replied to another thread, plus this thread has been around for awhile now, he has seen it but for some reason refuses to acknowledge it.

then I would say it's either bottom of list or he's just missed it...
Just don't think being "forcefull" will get him in here any quicker...

I hope Ian and the development team is still looking at these threads. One thing that is really killing me with the presentation is the blocking of the cutscreens with the play-calling screen. I'm really feeling what Ian had done, but this is like a eye-sore when it comes to the immersion. I dont know if its the users trying to rush threw or not, but i hope this can be fixed up or tweaked before release. Maybe Ian can have the playscreens wait until after the cutscreen is done or have it like 2k5 did with the action in the upper corner in a smaller screen, while the playscreens are picked. I love what the madden team has done, and i'm a 2k fan for life, i give him his props. Please fix this!!!!!!!!!!!

It is only a issue when your playing a 2 player match up. If your playing alone it isn't a issue. You will only have 1 play calling screen up , so the rest of the screen is clear and you can see the cut scenes with no problems at all.

Here are 2 samples of video showcasing the game in 1 player and 2 player, and the only time the play calling screen blocks the cut scenes is when playing with 2 players.

As you can see you will be fine when your playing by yourself.

the play calling screens in general should be redone, and they should not have both teams play selections laid out horizontal in the middle of the screen together like that.

The plays should be vertical with one team on the far left, and the other on the far right, which would not only make it a little more difficult to see what plays the other team is looking at, but it would also free up the middle of the screen for all the cut scenes, and background action.

I do think this game looks pretty good so far, but man.. it is really frustrating to me because it just seems like when it comes to the intangibles, and the subtle nuances of real time football presentation, EA just always seems to be off the mark..

Ok I can see your idea. Have the play calling screens going vertical , and your right It will also help with your opponent not being able to stare at your plays. Very Nice suggestion .

I guess I'm in the minority here. I don't mind having the playcall screen show at the bottom. I like the prospect of having the cut scene go through while having the playscreen pop up if you advance to it. Only thing I would change with it is to make the playcall screen not get in the way of the cut scene so much if possible.

im actually with you.. the bottom portion of the screen with the play call screen does NOT look bad..infact if you watch a real nfl game on tv..usually they have stat overlays,etc inbetween plays on the bottom half while the backgrounds are shots of crowds, sidelines,etc..i think its a nice mix really and im a HUGE HUGE presentation guy..im pretty picky about stuff that relates to atmosphere,etc..

The only time i see an issue is when two players are playing..when u got two play call screens covering up the entire screen..but honestly..when two human players are playing..the cutscenes are not something two guys sit and watch together..itsusually skippped any how

It would be nice if Ian would ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THIS THREAD!!!!!!

Let's get something straight right now. Up until about a year ago, developer interaction was a rarity around here. Now many of you have some sort of sense of entitlement where you feel like each and every post you write needs to be commented on by a member of your chosen game's development team. This is simply not the case. Posts like the one above will NOT be tolerated and WILL cause people to lose their access to this forum.

Right now, it's my #2 complaint as well, but right behind no Broadcast Camera angle...which every PS2 version had...we are four years into "next-gen" and still no broadcast camera............

Nothing out of the ordinary here. EA loves the button mashers. I don't think this will change anytime soon.

But what's strange is that in NCAA 10, their post-play stuff plays out with practically no obstruction at all.

Yea but it sucks. Look how quick the play call screen comes up after a play. Sometimes you get a good amount of time post play, other times its damn near instant. I just wish EA would copy all of APF's post play stuff(camera angles,replays,time length before the playcall screen appears, ect). I'd be extremely happy.
