I totally agree i have been buying madden for years. And for the life of me cant get the regression factor. What Nfl player runs totally straight up like they do in madden 10. What nfl player would want to take the impact of a hit from the defense standing straight up running. There is no realism in the motion. There is no anticipation that a 250 pound player is about to run full speed and make contact with me type of feel with the person running the ball. The runner should have a tilt as he is running but also as he senses he is about to get tackled, he should be getting lower to the ground and brace for the impact of the collision. Who runs a kick return with their back straight up with 5 players running dead at them about to take there head off.. Complete bs.. i played madden 09 for about 2 weeks and went back to call of duty. Looks like ill be waiting for madden 11 hopefully there will be some changes. And for the life of me I cant understand on some of the E3 videos, why when an opposing team score in the home teams stadium the crowd of the home team cheers and jump up and down. Sweet jesus!!!!!!!!!

lol give me a break. the fact that the RB's don't tilt the right way or brace for a hit correctly is going to cause you to NOT buy the game?

you don't even see that **** when you're actually playing, only in replays!

you can nitpick every sports game ever in regard to realism. the true question is whether or not the game is enjoyable. madden 10 looks awesome and EA has listened to a lot of what was asked for.

i agree that the running animations is not gone prevent me from buying, ill just call madden 10 "giraffe running" like i called 08-09 "monkey running"

its other things that would make me not buy madden 10 and from all the vids i saw so far, those other things is there

oh wow what a great post...stop flaming people...no one said they aren't going buy the game. How are you not going see how the player runs when your staring right at him. I think you need to organize your thoughts a little more before you go blasting people off with an insult laden post.

my point is what is the difference in the overall scheme of things? NCAA 09 had bad running animation on replays, NFL 2k5 looks like the guys are running with a stick up their asses, etc etc.

none of this affects gameplay. the animations are fine and frankly i would prefer EA concentrate on AI issues before making a cosmetic change in the running game.

give me a break, posting childish stuff like that isn't going help the cause..the guy in the video is just trying to point out his observation. The running is decent in madden but has room for improvement.

The way your player cuts and the physics of that movement defintely affects gameplay. It has nothing to do with a cosmetic change. Just to let you know the sport of football has a little thing called running in it.. EA can balance their concentration on more than one thing.

He is 100% correct. It is frustrating that all of these animations and physics are perfect on the PS2, so I don't know why they can't just go look at the PS2 game and get it as close as they can?

Chill out man. Apex is just saying that the running physics were correct in M04 and is frustrated that they have regressed in M10. What's wrong with that? It's like watching HDTV in black and white.

The game looks good things will be even better next year. The way Ian delivered this year I'm sure those things willl be looked into and worked on for next year.

The first vid, where he complains about there being only one footplant... I don't get it. The runner made two cuts. How many footplants does he want?

I agree, the first cut really should have required a slight deceleration and a drive off of a planted foot, but he says that there should have been 2 or 3 other footplants... and I just don't see it. Frankly, I have concerns about the game and I think we have a long way to go before madden gets everything where we want it, but this feels like an overeaction to a simple running play. Maybe he just picked a bad example.

Plus, there are videos where the planting looks fine, like for instance the HD video posted in the other thread. I'll link it again, and look at about 3:25 at Portis' run and you can even see the quick juke that apex has been wanting.

guys...like I said earlier, this is not for flaming or trolling. This is entirely for just constructive criticism and understanding where the game is at.

if you cant do that? then leave and don't bother posting.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it stated that the dev team would focus on either pro tak or locomotion and they chose pro tak this year?

I'm sure they are well aware of the locomotion issue and even pro tak is probably not polished 100% but I'm going to say that the devs know about it. I'm thinking that locomotion will be focused on for 2011 with the final touches being made to pro tak for 2011.

Overall, to me its looking like more was added to this cycle of Madden then all previous cycles combined. Looking like a good job this year. I can only imagine 2011, 2012 etc etc and what the games going to ultimately be.

This is a great start no doubt about it.

He shouldn't pick him for community day, they should put him on the the actual development team! Guy like Apex and Valdarez know what Madden needs in the animation and physics departments.

Well, I'm pretty sure the development team is aware of these problems, atleast i hope so. The problem is they're going to half to practically re-write the whole game code and start from scratch.

What i don't get is there is game for 10 bucks(APF 2K8) that beats Madden in every way imagineable and yet people still complain about Madden and don't even give this game a shot. I'm guilty of it too because i want a great game with NFL players and league license, but it just isn't going to happen. Madden is what it is.

I'm pretty convinced the real football sim crowd is a dying breed. They have lost all hope and the majority of football gamers left are people who want to be good at the game of Madden instead of learnning or trying to play real football. If this board is any indication at all they would rather have colored cleats and facemasks first and real football second.

The game of football is what made Madden, not the other way around and EA is just sitting themselves up for disaster with this notion that they can patch a leaky roof for ever.
