If we stop arguing about demons in Madden, defending Madden, 2k, Backbreaker, etc, and trying to convince others which game is better, then this thread will be okay.



I have faith in the entire Madden team, especially now that Phil and Ian are heading the franchise. Don't forget, Ian Cummings wasn't alone when doing the stuff he did. I bet you're excited about Madden 10 and a big portion of your excitement probably came from Coach Ruckus.

Coach Ruckus was over hyping the game to me. I like a level headed approach to things and if someone is overly excited than I will ignore them entirely on that issue. IMO they are blinded by the faults because they have seen something they like.

My wife loves over hyping things to me so I will want to what she wants to do LOL. 18 years later I am done listening to hype.

i believe this is the latest build cause its marked june 12

at 58 mark: that pulling guard isnt doing his assignment. he run to that and then stop and search for someone to block instead of just proceeding to the next level or even following the RB. this is what i mean by SEARCH and DESTROY logic and u can see it totally ruin running the football in madden

• Accessories
• Pockets forming
• Speed is not king anymore
• Defenders and Offenders have to look at the ball to know its coming
• ONLINE FRANCHISE
• Web based support for ONLINE FRANCHISE

The guard pulled out but there was no one to block because before he got there someone else blocked the guy he was targeting and everyone was accounted for. And lets face it, he's not going to catch up to Chris Johnson, so he couldn't do anything but just sit back. Thats just football.

And had that WR held the block for a split second more or Johnson did a quick spin or something it would likely go for a TD

Who was he going to block, if he could even get ahead of CHRIS JOHNSON, in the second level? The only other free man in that area in the safety. Do you really think the guard is going to be able to run ahead of CJ 20 yards downfield and block a safety?

There was nothing left for him to do. Look:

- There are 4 defenders from the guard and to the left. 2 Linemen and 2 LBs

- There are 4 blockers. OT, G, TE and FB.

When the play is snap, 3 of those guys rush inside the middle thinking inside run (or a bliz). That leaves one defender and 4 blockers, who the tight end blocks. Theres NO ONE ELSE FOR THEM TO BLOCK. By the time the guard got there, there was no one to block and CJ was past them. The line did their job and broke him free. How do you figure the guard is going to run all the way upfield to the only free man left (the safety). Matter fact, how do you think he's going to run ahead of one of, if not the, fast RB in the league? Thats just not going to happen.

This shouldn't even be debatable when its RIGHT THERE.

Dont get your in a bunch when I dont by into the hype. Again, its not my thread. I could care less if Ian came in here and said a word. I find it ironic he made a thread about a locked thread rather than give some input into this one. When its clear more than me have serious issues about gameplay. Until we all have had defend ourselves more than talk about game play, this thread was rather insightful.

Ive commended EA already. Obviously your too short sighted yourself, or too stuck on your views that I have some agenda to see that.

Ok cool. So I give you tangible evidence of Ian and the dev team making an effort to make the game better something we have never seen done in the series and you call it "HYPE". That's astonishing. So that means no matter what he says in response to this 09 video you will just call it hype as well. It's clear you refuse to acknowledge any effort on their part so have fun doing what you do. I'm sure you can't wait until Aug 14. to pick out every little thing wrong with the game.

wildcatt wow wow wow. at first i was talking about the guard with dreads pulling but when i went through it again and further show the horrible run block logic. the tackle actual could have went up field and help out but NO he did the waltz block tried to block someone so its was actually two lineman not doing there job.

pause the game at 1:00 exactly cause that should show the ball in air right before CJ catches it. you mean to tell me that tackle couldnt have made it to the first down marker to help that CB or a block a incoming defender coming from the right!!!

Ok if all you're going to do is ignore logic then I'm done here. I should have listened to you Matt, there's just no getting through to this guy. Those blockers could probably come to life right now and tell him there was nothing left for them to do and he'd still refute them.

If Rmoody had shown 100 run plays of both madden and Ap2k8 the fact that both games have quirks aint the bottom line point to be made.

The point is ONE is better than the other and the ONE thats better is 2 years old. So all that I can show you something wrong in whatever game matra dont apply. Its used as an excuse and a crutch for why your NEW game aint working as well as an older game.

My 2006 GT is heavier dont sound as good as a 95 gt and it has weaker rods, but at the end of the day in all the things both cars are suppose to do My 2006 GT is BETTER, so what it has flaws.

If Madden did what it is suppose to do more than it fails at it, it could be forgiven. However Maddens problems effect every area of the game. The time for excuses is way over.

That said we cant judge 2010 until we play it. Judging from vids 2010 aint AP2K8 quality yet, but it has improved alot of the visual and presentation aspects of it. The animations is still WAY behind Ap2k8 and the Run blocking in some of the vids look suspect, but we will see.

What is "AP2K8" quality? I've had AP2K8 and honestly hated it. The animations are ok, but I don't see how everyone is holding it as the benchmark. Personally, when the models are running to me it looks like they're running with a stick up their *** and it just looks and feels so weird and stiff. The tackling and blocking is pretty, Ill give it that, but I can barely stomach a full game because the pace seems so much slower and off than Madden. Combined with the fact that "presentation" is usually just bringing up a players name and what they did for the play EVERY TIME something happens and there's these long stretched out animations after plays just doesn't sit with me.

Maybe it's just me (well, not just me since this is the first gaming site I've been too where soooooo many people like APF). Also APF2K8 is one year older.
