I was at GAME in the UK last weekend and they had both the 360 and PS3 boxes on the shelves ready for pre-ordering. That said I've had my pre-order for the US PS3 version in for over a month!

But to clear it up it is on the shelves.

Are you from Newcastle or is that just your team (looking at the avatar)

I am and have been searching the internet all day to find out if there is any truth in the romors of the release date being pushed back here till somebody showed me this page . Is it definatly on the shelves up here? for the 14th?

There is no element of truth to this statement, you can preorder it all over the UK and the game is slated for release on the 14th.

And as for all this region free ****, don't forget EU Xboxs only play PAL titles, not NTSC.

It depends on the game. Some 360 games are region free, some aren't. Apparently M09 was, but NCAA 09 was not (should have been the other way around obviously).

I doubt very much there is no PAL M10.

either way, there is definitely an EU version of madden 10, and to suggest anything otherwise would be ridiculous.

only the PS3 is region free btw the 360 isnt

the release date for Aust is Aug 13 how can we explain that one that it will come out 1 day before the US! (well 2 days with the time zones almost)

yeah we'll get it before in the uk too..well, by about 6 or 7 hours..then again, you guys can get it at midnight. I'll be getting it on the 13th though, cause i preordered

I preordered from a UK site called Shopto.net, they're really, really good. If you order before 5pm, the game will be through your letterbox with the post the next morning. It's also free delivery!

Preorder wise, they promise to have the game to you by release date at the latest, which 99% of the time means that it arrives one day early, so that they give themselves enough time to post it to you.

Last year I was playing Madden 09 a day before it came out in shops here, likewise with GTA IV. I would highly recommend preordering it from there if you're in the UK guys

It was on the shelves but didn't have a release date. Some UK sites have this down for 28th Aug (Gameplay, Amazon), others have it for 14th Aug - so which is it?

I've ordered from the US, but if it's out in the UK on 14th Aug I might as well cancel my import and go down the shop to get it...would be nice to have the confirmation of a release date.

Have EA decided to go with a global release date of 14th? Usually it's out in the UK a couple of weeks after the US release, what happened last year?

Last year Madden 09 (PAL) was released 3 days after Madden 09 (NTSC), would be nice to see a worldwide release, but unlikely.

I thought it was released a few days after, thanks for that - I got the anniversary edition last year from the US. Games in the US normally release on a Tuesday but as it's a Friday in the US this year then it is looking increasingly like a global release on 14th Aug.

I'll wait a week or two before cancelling my US pre-order just in case it's put back though.

I dont know whats up but I just hope its nothing more than a week late

Edit : GAME told my buddy who rang up today that they are expecting it on the 14th .

I've got a feeling it will be the 14th, especially as Game, Play.com and ShopTo have it listed for that date.

I'll give it a week or two to make sure that date holds and then cancel methinks!

Again, it depends on the game. Some 360 games are. Well, maybe not "region free" technically, perhaps "multi regional", but the end result is the same.

I think most years EA strive for an equal release in PAL regions - when the release is later, it tends to change quite late, which would suggest a delay in the PAL copies or similar.
