As i said before in another popular thread.. the reason why you see alot of hate is that ..hate sticks out much more then people that are happy. Think of Evil vs Good lol...The example i used in the other thread was to an effect as this... Say your tossing a party at your house and have have a couple of bone heads that came uninvitedly ..causing a ruckus,trouble,b1tch'n,etc.. those people will stick out far more then the happy campers having a good time even if the haters are greatly outnumbered.

Lets be realistic now.. if you were to post a poll asking who thinks madden retail will be good.. or appreciate the improvements made this year... the polls would display that there are FAR MORE people that feel madden10 is good or that they appreciate the improvements this year then those that hate the game... Dont believe? Go make the poll... i would make the poll myself but i already know what the results would show.. that the majorty are in favor of M10 then those that are not.

By the way, yes the dev team this year put in much hustle into M10...props goes to them as im gonna be having a blast this year and all the haters will have nothing < whichs lets me sleep comfy at night lol ..kidding

Nobody is forcing you to play the game. And I bet if some of you were to be ON the dev team you would make the same damn mistakes. Because I'm sure that you all don't know everything about what it takes to make a game.

Now Not all of you are haters I posted on a few threads and saw videos that are POSITIVE I don't remember which thread or who it was. Actually I like the direction Madden is going.

People reflect and enjoy all the positive changes they have made since the previous one. Instead of wasting time venting about something you have no control over.

PS. Im sure they know what wrong with the game, because they [EA] made it!

[UPDATED AFTER SEEING ALL THE RESPONSES]

Wow you people are fired up about giving the devs props!

Anyway here is the video I was talking about and actually I didn't notice but he had another one too! Watch til the end.

Re: People give the DEVELOPERS of Madden props for TRYING to make the game better.

      @Mattintellect-----well said.
Before I bought The Show, I read all the demo impressions, and the same stuff came up there----bad animations on fielding, morphing, etc.

I went and bought the game anyway, because I was thinking along those lines you mentioned---instead of focusing on the negatives, I focused on the positives. To this day, that game keeps me coming back for more.

As for Madden-----because of the lack of presentation in 09, and some really bad glitches, that game went sour in a hurry. And I'm a bigger football fan than I am of baseball.

So this Thursday when I finally get the free demo, that'll be my mindset. Will it keep me immersed and excited to play? Or will it go stale? We shall see......but I know I won't be looking for "ice skaters", which way the CB turns to defend a pass, etc.

The overall game feel will be my judgement.

Folks, we have to ask ourselves going in, are we looking for glitches and animation problems or are looking for a solid and fun NFL game? Don't look for the negatives, look for the positives. IMO, Madden NFL 2005 was a better game overall than any other Madden NFL football game as well as ESPN NFL 2k5. I honestly believe that Madden has returned to its glory days this year. Ian and Phil both worked on Madden 2005 and I'm sure they are still bringing in more last-gen features, but to say that because it took this long for next-gen Maddens to improve is an understatement. You have to ask yourself if you can imagine playing the game for a full year regardless of a few issues that the game may have and regardless of you being an NFL fan or not. If the answer is yes, then this game meets YOUR standards and should satisfy you. Forget about past Madden attempts, focus on the game that is going to be released and ask yourself if you will enjoy it. I'm definitely giving props to the Madden team for returning the franchise to its roots and I can care less about anyone else's standards as long as mine are being met first.

Also, don't lie to yourself when you say that you will give up on the Madden NFL franchise if Madden 11 have ANY of those problems. We always come here looking for an improved game every year unless you've given up on gaming and the NFL in general.
That's correct. I've stated in a few threads that I haven't played the demo. I'm planning on playing it Thursday.

However, I don't need to play the game first-hand to see some of the apparent problems the game has.

There is no try, you gotta do. Well, M10 is not there yet, so no props. Like i said, heading in the right direction, but no props yet. THey will get props from me, when i feel they can pass 2K8 on the field. Until then. No dice.

Re: People give the DEVELOPERS of Madden props for TRYING to make the game better.

This is my first post, though i've been a fan OS since I was frustrated with Madden 09 and needed to check if I was the only one. On that note, judging from all the postive reviews and great videos on youtube, I would like to thank Ian and the gang for bringing me back to Madden. The game seems pretty cool not complete but not the crap fest that was 09; that was the first Madden I ever sold and I actually hated the franchise, you folks have peaked my interest and hopefully will restore my faith in the brand.

Seems like anything negative said is now being classified as "hate", when a lot of it could easily be classified as frustration. Frustration from having no choice, which isn't Tiburon's fault. Frustration from the game not having a lot of good iin it for many years, which is Tiburon's fault. Either way I don't think it's as simple as classifying everything as hate. I'm not saying hate doesn't exist, just saying anything said negative shouldn't automatically be classified as hate.

You have a point there. I would say that people are pre-maturely expressing frustration with the demo only. Now I subbed this guy Barney and he seems to have an UN-bias and realistic view about this madden drama!

Give them props or a pat on the back? Um...NO! What the Devs did was their job which is making a good video game. I'm not about to get on my knees and say "Ooooh, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" for this game. If EA was putting out a product that improved Madden each year from 2005 to now, then they would be getting praise from fans. The only thing I can say is, "You've finally caught up and with a little more grooming, you'll be in the driver's seat." I haven't bought Madden since 2006 and for the right reason.

I'm reading the Offline Franchise mode and I'm impressed that it's getting back to where it was in 2005. There needs to be video highlights at halftime and post game shows. If 2K5 did it in 2004 on last gen system, what's the problem? Highlights from other games around the league, even do "game breaks" from other games around the league. Collingsworth is very thorough at commentary but Hammonds mails it in and is HORRIBLE. Scrap him for God's sake.

In short, Madden is almost there. EA should take this game and build upon it. Go back and look at NFL 2K5 presentation and production values and build on them. You have the technology, DO IT. The game can be a mirror image of what we see on every Sunday in every facet of the game. Gameplay and presentation. Apex said it best, Madden 10 should not be compared to any other game, Madden 10 should be compared to Real NFL Football.

Re: People give the DEVELOPERS of Madden props for TRYING to make the game better.

Why would we give props to a huge team of guys that manages to add no more than 1 or 2 significant features to a game (usually at the expense of removing 1 or 2) that even while adding only a mere 2 features can't seem to fix problems that have been in the game for years?

Alot of people don't give EA props because they don't really try to do anything.

Granted, I think Madden was at one point the worst pro football game you could possibly play, they have at least been slowly (very slowly... almost not moving) going upwards. I'll give them props for that, but quite frankly EA is a very lazy company on the sports side of things, and it shows.

It's sad that a game 5 or 6 years older than Madden 2010 will probably end up yet again still having features and functions that work better than anything Madden has ever produced. Perhaps no one noticed, but when Madden had competition EA was making a pretty damn good football game. Now? No dice... Madden has at best been mediocre each year than after. For that matter, Madden 06 and 07 were pretty terripathetisad.

There are some people, and they know who they are, it won't matter. EA could make the greatest game of all-time, and they would still complain, because it's not a 2k game.

You probably fit this description. You've already deemed the game unworthy and haven't even played it.

I think what trips me about some "Maddenites" is that they get upset when you don't accept the game with "universal praise" or "critical acclaim". Even when a person says it's not there completely but in the right direction or in my case when I say almost there but in the right direction, it's not enough for them.

The graphics are sick. The gameplay looks like it's going to be good. If they used this same game mold and make more touchups to gameplay and build on presentation, it will be ready to go.

Re: People give the DEVELOPERS of Madden props for TRYING to make the game better.

I look at it like this:

If {insert your favorite music artist/band here} made a song that you thought was amazing, would you not praise them? In the entertainment industry (video games and music are entertainment), accolades are given to good performers and producers of exceptional work.

My point is, you guys seem to think people shouldn't tell EA "Good job." because it's what they're "supposed to be doing". There's a difference between working at a job in just a regular office and working at a job at Tiburon. The regular office job might be more important in the grand scheme of society, but the office at Tiburon is the entertainment business, so they would/should/could be praised for their work.

                              Just the way it is.

You shouldn't be prejudice against Madden '10, just because the last few have been terrible. Reserve your judgment until you yourself have purchased/rented/downloaded the demo and played it.

For the record, there's no way that you have played any of the PS3/XBOX 360 Madden's and havn't noticed that there has been solid step up this year. I've played the 1 minute demo on my PS3 and noticed the turn ratios on the first kickoff to be well implemented and tuned. So there's my props to EA.

Edit: The final released Madden '10 might not be perfect, but I know that it will be enjoyable, for me. Be smart on your purchases people, and don't spend money on a game you're just going to hate.

Re: People give the DEVELOPERS of Madden props for TRYING to make the game better.

Madden has improved.....but I my honest opinion it does not surpass 2k5 in a lot of areas and it does not surpass 2k8 in a lot of areas.

Mainly the robotic formation movement of the players is an eye soar. From players on the sidelines to kickoff teams this needs to be eradicated.

The running game needs a little more punch. There is no struggle when running the ball or breaking tackles. Needs a new system period. Something to show the differences in the NFL running back.

Defense needs more immersion. Great linebacker, DL, and CB play should be known. These players should just flat out dominate sometimes. Crush the QB, blow the hole up, shut down one side of the field type of "dominate" "I got to go somewhere else to move the ball" or pay the price.

We all want a better playing football game. Whether some will admit it or not 2k set a bar with representing the differences with its players years ago and THAT is what IMMERSED people in to its game.

This team that Madden has now has the chance to improve and go beyond what any football game has done before. But they simply are not there yet.
What world do you live in?
