Re: QB vision:
I loved the cone. You could simply set it in the middle pre-snap and find the open WR and move to him or you could start it out one way to move the safeties and then come back across the field. Don't know if it will make it back because it is somewhat of an eyesore but man that was a nice tool.PSN: jclentzthadonComment

Re: QB vision:
After looking at this thread, I can't believe people really complained THAT much to get the crew to take it completely out of the game. I mean, it's not even a game option anymore. Sad...Comment

Re: QB vision:
Btw I haven't tryed it but it should still be the same, to change the primary reciever on the play just hold the right trigger then press the button for the reciever you want to be the primary. Please take note that most of what I say and post is made in satire.

Re: QB vision:
so I came across another thread where they were discussing the pump fake and how effective it is in Madden 10. basically what the poster was saying is that the pump fake holds the safteys in position and on some occasions makes d linemen run away from the QB. If this is true and I have no reason to doubt the man then we will never see the V cone again. the reasoning is this is exactly what I feared with the randon player attempting to jump a route. most likely it will be some pore sap who they gave a poor awarness rating.
It will really suck if this randon route jumping happens even if the user tells the DBs not to. Im going to paly the demo ill let you guys know what i find.Always drinking the Chicago Bears cool aid!

Re: QB vision:
I agree w/everyone that wants to bring it back. It was a great feature and one of the reasons that I have stayed on the Xbox/PS2 until this year. I strongly feel that all the naysayers are simply gamers that lacked the skill to execute the feature. It creates a far more realistic game. I will say though that I hated how some people would use it. Some users would whip the vision around back and forth as fast as they could and then lock on to a receiver and pass it right away.....that was pretty bogus.Comment

Re: QB vision:
Although I do like some aspects of it and enjoy using it, I will say that the feature was incredibly slow and that it took me out of the rhythm of passing.
Under a heavy blitz I might drop back, and spot an open man right away. . .but wait let me rotate the damn cone over like a rusty tank turret. . .brrrrrrrrrrrrmmm ok there, fire-akk sacked!
In that sense I do agree with the many complaints. On the PC side we have things like Track IR, where you CAN whip your head over in a split second to see something. A similar setup in first person mode I think is the only way to do this right.
I think a lot depends on how you play. I enjoy dropping back and trying to operate in the pocket realistically. In this way I will say the cone IS a hindrance. I'm not trying to run backward 50 yards and spin-chuck it. I just want to drop back, and if I see an open man then throw it too him that instant, as I would if I saw him in rl. Now then, do I enjoy the ability to look off defenders, Sure I do. Can I use the cone with some skill? I think so. I also think though that speed is an issue and that it can completely ruin the rhythm of a stop, plant, and throw routine.
Any thoughts?Comment

Re: QB vision:
You probably don't realize it, but you are staring the WR down in real life. Nobody can see all WR's at once.Comment

There was no need to rotate the cone, all you had to do was double tap the receiver's button (while holding r2). No clunkiness whatsoever and it's just as fast as not using the cone. Also like the other guy said, you should have switched your primary to the hot receiver before the play.Comment

Re: QB vision:
It was a good idea just cumbersome in its application and without enough penalty for not using it correctly. There has to be a more intuitive system of representing player awareness. It might work better now, though, with the slower game pace.Last edited by helix139; 08-05-2009, 04:49 PM.Comment
