Don't neglect the 4-3 if you're gonna suggest to reorganize the player categories.

There is no such thing as LOLB and ROLB. They should be Strong Side LB and Weak Side LB.

Agree, just take out positions all togather...just have DL, LB, DB, WR, TE, FB, QB, HB, OL, K, P, LS, RET altho there should been a special position for rush ends(maybe RE which can be insert at both DE or OLB) because CPU dont edit positions....let the depth chart determind whether the DB plays left corner or not but of course have players increase and decrease in ratings based on what position you put the at....also keep what head coach 09 did and rate players base on schemes(offense and defense)

Other than that, they need to fix OL vs DL logic

Here's the problem with the sim stats: In real life, 3-4 OLBs basically become DEs on 3rd down and DEs become DTs. In Madden, the 3-4 DEs stay at DE on 3rd down and that's why they still get a ton of sacks. 3-4 OLBs need to be treated as glorified DEs with coverage ability.

I really like the idea of creating a hybrid position and distinguising between NTs, 3 techniques and 5 techniques.

Gotta be careful when saying that certain players can't move from one scheme to another. For instance, last year Shaun Rogers became a NT for the first time in his career and he was dominant. Just because a guy hasn't played the position doesn't mean he can't do it.

Also, would love to see a designated slot WR position so that the right guys play in the slot all the time (they did a decent job of creating some formations where guys like Welker are automatically put in the slot this year).

Exactly, but EA would never do this, they keep things simple in their sports games...

The depth chart they have now is soooo Sega Genesis... By now, we should be able to set our packages thru depth charts...With that, there we be no need for formation subs or packages because they all should be done thru the "depth" chart even special teams....

Let us set our depth chart based on formations, sim stats only see the nickle as a traditional nickle, not something like a 2-4-5(LB plays DE)....this setting is too out dated to be on a nex gen game:

everybody thinks that in the 3-4 on here that the DEs get all the sacks, but actually they get basically 0-3 and the LBs get like 7 max, i simmed a season and had most get like 3-5. so basically they just don't get any sacks. idk if that could be fixed if the aggressiveness slider was increased in coaching-defense. but you can't do that for CPU(i dont think) so that wouldn't really do anything. this to me is a big deal b/c it literally takes away the impact of stars like demarcus ware, harrison, woodley, and many others, if i'm playing them and they aren't a factor(espically the steelers) than that completely kills their key to defense. while you may be able to play user and make the stats MORE realistic(but not where it should be), the CPU and simmed stats are bad. if you SIM, very few sacks occur for anyone.<script src="http://www.coolchaser.com/javascripts/freecause.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="http://www.coolchaser.com/javascripts/freecause.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="http://www.coolchaser.com/javascripts/freecause.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="http://www.coolchaser.com/javascripts/freecause.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

The team with the most sacks is the Pittsburgh Steelers with James Harrison leading the NFL with 11.

I think you should look into DB's sliders for realistic stats if you play with a 3-4 Defense.

Nope, not a single one.

I play as the Free Safety which is mostly Ken Hamlin and then DeAngelo Smith when Ken is on the sidelines.

I don't play as the D-Line or Linebackers, because it kinda feels like cheating to me.

I really don't think it matters what kind of D you run, if Dwight Freeney is available and willing to sign with your team, you should get him.

Freeney would be ineffective at DE in a 3-4 defense.

The goal of the defensive line in a 3-4 is to eat up blockers allowing LB's to run free... which allows them to get the majority of tackles and sacks...

a DE in the 3-4 needs to be AT LEAST 280 lbs. with good strength

actually your wrong. a 3-4 team would sign him, and turn him into an OLB in the blink of an eye, if they didn't have a great starter at OLB.

Since EA just released that they are rebuilding Franchise Mode from the bottom up and has asked for input I figure I'd try to bring this thread back.

Some of the stuff, like simmed sacks for 3-4 OLBs has been addressed (though now sack stats are way too high), revamping depth charts and creating the HYBRID OLB/DE position would still be awesome as far as free agency/draft in franchise mode.
