I've got defensive PI set to 80 and I've seen 6 PI calls in twelve 8 minute matches (3 for and 3 against).

I only play offline co-op Franchise so on defense we play as secondary and on offense one of us is actually running WR patterns on passing downs. Maybe that's why we've seen several justifiable PI calls.

over the 5 or 6 games i've played, i've had 2 called. And they were both on the CPU and there was hardly any contact. It seemed just kinda random

i got a PI when i was trying to stop a screen it was whack & not my fault

The ONLY 3 penalties I ever see are Holding, clipping and facemask. I have everything else to 100 and STILL never see them. I showed the video of McNabb throwing the ball in no ones direction to avoid the sack and he wasnt called for intentional grounding.

Where is the pass interference, offsides and IG? How many years is EA going to completely overlook the penalties. They never work right.

I've had PI called against the cpu once in 3 games so far.

True. Apparently EA believes penalties are irrelevant when attempting to build a more "sim" like game. And what's weird is that on the last gen Madden, I could get an average of 12 penalties a game, and a variety at that.

ive seen pass interference and late hits and all due to my own fault lol but none on the cpu side.

Ive had 3 pi's called on the cpu in 11 games including preseason.

once and it was against the cpu and my receiver was running a cross pattern and he just barely scraped the mlb and the cpu got flagged for interference, i was so shocked i had to watch it on replay, and i have the slider up to a 100, SAD.

this is what happened to me, except it was a DB who was in man and "cut off" my WR while he was running his crossing route

Who would buy Madden if the game was more realistic with their penalties? Use your heads guys. Nobody aside from the handful of simfreaks like the people on this board (who are a TINY minority of the Madden fanbase) would feel like sitting through all of those penalties in a game.

I do agree that there could be better balance with them. There's barely ANY penalties in the game. How many games have you ever seen without false starts and pass interference at times? I don't think it needs to be 100% realistic with the penalties, I don't even think it needs to be 80% realistic with them. If it could just somewhat implement them, that would be fine.

That's what sliders are for -- catering to different play preferences. If the sliders actually worked for penalties, which they don't, you could have your weird unrealistic penalty-free game, and we "simfreaks" can have real football.

the false starts are something I don't have a problem with... if your using the fake snap to keep the d-line from being quick off the ball you'll get a few of them (likewise the cpu seems to get a couple a game too)

I have only played about 7 games so far and I have only had it called in my favour once (with default sliders). The CPU DB blocked my WR1 from running the post route, I noticed it and threw in his direction and got the call. I have seen play which could be possibly called Interference but I threw to the other side of the field so it might be a good idea to throw the ball in the direction of the effect receiver if you spot it when making your reads.

Only once (against AI) in about 10 games
This needs fixing.
