Re: Anyone want to sue EA over NFL exclusivity?
So its clearly obvious that you are against innovation in sports gaming, and do not care at all for competition even though it brings out the best. If that were not true you wouldnt be on the forum putting forth so much effort into shooting down peoples explanations and claims as to why this is a good idea to sue EA....nice.
I think Ian and Co. are doing a fine job with the game. The agreement of the license is between the NFL and EA Sports. That's their call, and it's up to me whether or not to buy Madden. That's my choice, as a consumer. If you think Madden isn't worth buying, then don't buy it. I make my suggestions to the dev team on improvements as well, because I find issues with the game too.
To say I don't want innovation is incredulous, especially considering how you came to this conclusion. I've been saying, thus far, that you can't just blame EA for signing a deal that the NFL agreed to. And I don't believe the past dev team did anything to purposefully screw consumers. I think they made a craptacular game, but I think that's due to lack of understanding and vision.
That Ian was placed in position and allowed to do what he's done is evidence to me that there are people at EA Sports who really care that Madden is the best game out there. Clearly, someone saw that things weren't being managed properly, and that the developmental vision wasn't right. Otherwise, we'd see the same team doing the same crap. I think Ian's team is on to the something, and I like where he's taking the game.
Sure, competition is healthy. But right now, there's a legal agreement between EA Sports and the NFL that will prevent that. Too bad, 2K.Comment

If you think EA is purposefully doing this, whatever. You're speaking as if it's a proven fact, and this is not the case. I believe the past dev team royally blew it, but I don't believe they did it purposefully. Just because someone screws something up, this doesn't mean it was intentional, or malicious.

I like Madden 2010. I believe it's leaps and bounds beyond Madden 09. So unless we're talking about Madden 06 - 08, I disagree with you.Comment

This "crap" they have put out is a very relative term.
I'm sure they annually look at sales numbers though.Comment

Re: Anyone want to sue EA over NFL exclusivity?
That's exactly why you like Madden 10' because it's better than last year. It's always going to be better but that's not saying much. That's the problem with many of you defending EA and Madden 10'. Stop comparing M10 to last year game. Compare it to NFL Football. Comparing it to NFL Football, the game is mediocre at best.Comment

Re: Anyone want to sue EA over NFL exclusivity?
In Madden, you don't need to look hard for something wrong with the game. I just don't find my player ricocheting off a pro-tak animation while the ball carrier just continues to run for another 10 yards any fun.Comment

If you need a perfect simulation of football, I recommend you find a league to play in. You will not find it in a video game. I'm not suggesting we just accept flaws. But if you demand absolute perfection in a game, you will not get it.Comment
