Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
Let me get this straight: Let's say I want to control a MLB who's dropping back into coverage. Can I position him where I want before the snap, and then after the snap wait two seconds before manually controlling him? Or can I not move him at all pre-snap and just wait two seconds after the snap?
And this works the same way with DBs?It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
Hey thanks guys for clarifying. Yes, robo qb is gone after doing this method. You can't control every player, unless the QB makes a pass and you want to control the player nearest the receiver, then do so. But you have to start out as one player.
The AI on your team does their jobs. You just have to do yours. Once they do theirs and you do yours, the plays will mesh and you can get cpu controlled sacks with linebackers as well. Hell, I've got a sack with josh wilson playing nb blitz. CPU controlled and it was awesome because I was tatupu covering his man at zone. You dig what im saying guys?
You guys might have to up your cpu run sliders because I been shutting down the run game with this method but they been pass a grip, michael crabtree went 200 yards w/ 12 receptions on me in yesterday's game.Comment

Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
2, 3, 4, it all depends. Just let them move to their zone and I usually wait until a receiver comes near me then i'll move around that area manually. You have to use your head when playing this. Just play your part in the game.
No you can move him to anywhere, just as long as your cover your spot. CPU will take notice you're away from your position and make a pass there.Let me get this straight: Let's say I want to control a MLB who's dropping back into coverage. Keep in mind, you guys have to improvise. Sometimes at a cover 3, lets say im tatupu and the 49ers are having a field day passing on me. Well, I disguise my cover 3 offense, let cpu control tatupu for only a second or two then I improvise a blitz. I'm telling you, I've gotten sacks this way making my way through gaps and or the cpu will make sacks with the dt or de or at least create massive defensive pressure.
**update**
One huge thing I did notice about AI CPU play is that when i begin to shut down their run game, they pass often, heavily. They rely on it. But when I shut down their pass game, they run often.
I can't wait for broadcast cam to come out because with this method, it will be just like what we see on sundays.Last edited by Bulldogs78; 08-21-2009, 04:21 PM.Comment

Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
This didn't work for me but I play on the fastest setting so the two second wait would mean the play would be almost over before I took control.
The only time the QB doesn't get rid of it before taking a sack is 1) on a screen pass when the RB gets caught up and 2) when I have everyone covered or even double covered (and even then it is rare). Most of the time if there is even an inch of daylight the ball will miraculously find its way out of his hands still. I have even had my guy face up standing in front of a stationary receiver in the flats and he still makes the "throw" a second before he gets hit.
Haven't heard anything else on here so I'm wondering if its really working at the slower speeds or not.Comment

Yeah, I don't think it works on the fastest settings. I play on slow.
BTW GUYS....use versus's sliders, Pro user setting, cpu maxed out, 0 threshold.
I combined my technique along with his sliders, I am getting amazing games. You guys should try it.Comment

Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
With versus sliders, how are the running games and interceptions looking?
Seems to me, with 100 CPU INT, they would INT pretty much anything near them.
I played one half with versus sliders and didnt have great results. Jason Campbell went Robo QB on me. Some aspects felt to easy and some felt too difficult or unrealistc. Plus, I still seen alot of roller skating and mindreading that versus claimed doesnt happen on his settings.Comment

I'm not going to lie, it's an INT fest. I just turned off my game Cards vs Seahawks (me) and right off the bat, first play, I pass to Houshyomama and Adrian Wilson out of nowhere gets it.With versus sliders, how are the running games and interceptions looking?

Call me crazy, but I think i'm going to try out rookie mode, with cpu sliders maxed out. I'll get back to you guys on that. Playing right now. If it doesn't work out, I think i'll have to lower the INTs a bit down, hoping it doesn't mess with the AI too much.
UPDATE:
OH WOW. nevermind. 28-0 in the 1st quarter. Waaaay too easy. Kurt Warner playing like a scrub vs the Seahawks D. Not at all real.
I think i'm going to lower int at pro mode to about 50 to see where we go from there. But as far as using my method with this, for some reason, it calms the AI down big time vs playing a player manually. It works weird with DL and LB interaction. If you manually control an LB to do a blitz, the QB will panic and pass of his backfoot whereas if you use a DL manually, it will not do that every time.
also keep in mind, it's easier to get sacks, whether is cpu controlled or yourself when the qb is going for a PA vs a shotgun play.Last edited by Bulldogs78; 08-22-2009, 05:33 PM.Comment

Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
I've tested this in two games now and am convinced you're right. Don't hit turbo when the CPU QB is dropping back and don't stray from your defensive assignment, as you indicated, and the CPU QB WILL HANG ONTO THE BALL! That enables you to get pressure and sacks.
I've gotten four sacks in each of the last two games. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Out of curiosity, what sliders are you using and what difficulty?Comment

Re: Just found a way to create great D vs CPU (No more robo qb!)
I play on pro (I'm a below average player) with my own sliders, which I'm constantly adjusting and will continue to do so until after the patches are released.
In a nutshell, though, I use slow setting and 70 speed differential, which drastically reduces open players in the flat and money screen plays.
I maxed out run blocking for both human and CPU and increased CPU run sliders. I also lowered INT sliders for both human and CPU.It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Not gonna write a long speech kissin ur but. Lol. I will end it here with kudos my friend. Nice to see a thread with 3+ pages that is about something that can be done to fix the game and not bashing it
