Emmitt Smith in Madden 94. You could audible to a field goal for a regular formation and Emmitt could hit field goals from 50 yards. He had a stronger than their kicker!
Stephen Davis in Madden 2001. Some of my friends would use the Skins all the time. I can still hear Madden in my head, "Stephen Davis is a big strong guy, and he's a load to bring down."
Jamal Lewis in Madden the year after he ran for 2000 yards. Truck stick with breakaway speed.Comment

Re: what was your favorite running back to use in the history of madden?
A pretty sweet thread.
I would have to say the following:
1) Walter Payton (85 Bears) in Madden 93 -- Impossible to tackle
2) Barry Sanders in Madden 98
3) Matt Forte in Madden 10
4) Marshall Faulk in Madden 2003
5) Eddie George in Madden 2001What?Comment

Back in the year DeShaun Foster was a rookie, he was an absolute monster in Franchise mode.
And I also loved using Travis Stephens as my feature back, a kid that was drafted from Tennessee a few years back. Loved him in Tennessee and he got drafted to my favorite team, the Bucs. So I always developed him and turned him into a stud.NFL: Bills

Fred Taylor Madden 2004. I traded for him in franchise mode and had huge years with him.

Thurman Thomas in one of the earlier versions of the game. I could run the sweep and kill it or hit him with a screen pass. I remember the noise the game made when he made a reception; it sounded like a bomb going off.
Anyway, definitely Thurman. He was a beast and did it all.Currently playing: NCAA 2010

Re: what was your favorite running back to use in the history of madden?
In Madden '07 for regular XBox, I imported a NCAA draft class and drafted a RB named Trent Daniels. The guy was literally Bo Jackson Jr. He was like 6'2" 230lbs, 96speed, 82strength. I loved running with that guy.Playing Madden for what it is, not what it used to be.
If you continue seeking a Madden game with all of the options it had on XBox, you will be disappointed. If you accept that the next-gen version of Madden is a downgrade in every area except graphics, then you will find a true gaming experience.Comment
