As far as #2, your suggestion has been recognized, but sorry to inform you that I'm buying. I have no problem paying for DLC like this. If I didn't feel it was worth it, then I wouldn't buy it.

I understand you wanting people to feel as you do and not buy the DLC and complain so that hopefully it either comes down in price or is free, but thats most likely not going to happen. People want it and they want to buy and are going to buy it. Why can't you accept and respect that decision by others and stop trying to persuade them to feel as you do?

    Different strokes for different folks.
    :uh:

Read your sentence again and read mine. The game killing issues that they are fixing are all being fixed in the 2nd patch. The issues being fixed in patch 1 I didn't even realize were issues and I'm sure many others didn't complain about those either. So that proves to you that they were working on this before they were working on fixing the game killing bugs in their game.

You can argue it aint worth $7 - heck I might even agree there....but STOP saying things like this unless you can back it up.

This DLC is coming out before or at the same time as a first patch. Less than a month after the game was released.

Have you ever seen the graphics textures that EA uses for their games? Have you ever seen the .fsh files and all of their graphics? A uniform skin can be done, by me (a non professional graphic artist) in like an hour if I wanted to. Obviously you haven't seen what was done with MVP for the computer, NBA Live, all EA sports games, etc.

Also, the uniforms were said to be in in interviews back in 1Q 2009 as has been posted many times throughout these threads.

I believe that all of that information that I DO KNOW first hand is why my statements are not broad stroke statements (whatever that means).

If you have never dealt with their textures or photoshop in anyway then you are the one making claims that have no backing. I know for a fact that these overlays, uniforms, playcall screens, etc are all things that can be done in one day. The ONLY thing that might take longer than that is Madden Moments simply because I do not know how EA programs those. However, I would assume those are easy as **** to do as well since we used to have a scenario creator (I believe) in Madden which basically was any Madden Moment you ever wanted.

...you said they were doing this before working on a patch for "game killing" bugs. I'm not sure who determines what a game killing bug is, but in my opinion, there isn't a game killing bug in the game as I've been able to play and enjoy the game as it stands right now. And if I had to choose one, it would be the excessive holding calls on field goals which is being addressed via the first patch.

And besides, who cares if they were working on this prior to the 2nd patch? Are you that desparate to try and put a negative spin on the DLC that you'll throw anything against the wall in hopes that it will stick?

Listen, you've made your opinion known, you're not a fan of the DLC, we get it. Now, please stop trying to rain on everyone else's parade and let those of us who are excited and buying the DLC discuss it without having to constantly either defend our decision or sift thru you're "educating" posts.

        Thanks.

        Thanks.

The thing with me is I only really want the Bills white AFL jersey, and I don't feel like spending $7 on some DLC for a game I'm going to trade in once 2k10 and Modern Warfare 2 come out.

This is obviously a money making ploy by ea. Madden in the past has included historic teams free of cost, infact there was several for each team as well as european football league teams. Now, shortly after release they are already asking for money for things that in the past were included in the game. Before a patch, to fix the problems, we have EA asking for moeney for things they purposly kept off the pressed game discs at the time of release.

Just watched the video. Didn't realize there was one. Those unis are looking pretty fly. I'm also not too upset that they're charging for it. Don't really mind it because the game is really good in my opinion.

Madden has been good in the past, and all the extras were left in the game. They weren't held out, and announced as chargeable download content several weeks after release. Before we get a patch to fix problems, we see EA asking for cash for content which was probably removed and or held out prior to pressing the disc for retails sales.

                      Ok.

                      1) Show me those quotes please. I have asked about this and have yet to see them (from another post)Since it's been done many times this should be an easy request.
                      2) "broad stroke" means you are making blanket assumptions about the whole process based on your knowledge of one specific thing. That applies here. You have NO idea how much effort goes into Madden Moemnets but you "assume" they are "easy". (Your words).
                      3) I am not making ANY claims. For the record I have NO idea what goes into making this stuff...but then again I am not the one making claims that it can be done in one day. It's cool you know photohop and all - but until you get a quote from a programmer/employee at EA - you have no PROOF how long it takes (which brings me back to point #2)
                      4) The patch has nothing to do with DLC. What difference does it make when it comes out? If it's so "easy" to make these unifiomrs in less than a day and all...it shouldn't take away AT ALL from work on the patch. So exactly what is your point on that?

I haven't been bashing or any kind of negative comments in my last few posts regarding this. I have simply been replying to replies to my messages or giving the correct information about this DLC.

Also my comments about the patch related to the DLC is in direct correlation to the post that was asked to me "How do I know this was being worked on before a patch?". It is pretty easy to realize that this was being worked on prior to the patch that will be fixing AI, flats passing, pursuit angles, and plenty of other game killing bugs that make the gameplay ridiculously unrealistic. I KNOW this because this is coming out prior to the patch.

No problem. Since you apparently do not have google I will google it for you.

One small piece of news for Madden 2010 that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere has to do with the 50th anniversary of the American Football League. The celebration of the AFL's anniversary is expected to be a big part of the marketing campaign that the NFL pushes this upcoming season. The eight original AFL franchises

March 18, confirmed by some Sports Business and Pasta through talking to them.

                          2) "broad stroke" means you are making blanket assumptions about the whole process based on your knowledge of one specific thing. That applies here. You have NO idea how much effort goes into Madden Moemnets but you "assume" they are "easy". (Your words).

Correct, I do not know how long it takes to make Madden Moments. However, I do have an idea how the "Situation Creator" in Madden 2000 worked that allowed you to make "Madden Moments" yourself. The fact "Situation Creator" isn't in a version 10 years later but "Madden Moments" are leads me to believe this was done so they could profit off of "Situations"/"Moments" which is laughable.

                          3) I am not making ANY claims. For the record I have NO idea what goes into making this stuff...but then again I am not the one making claims that it can be done in one day. I do have PROOF how long it takes. I could do this myself on any copy of any EA sports PC game. Have you ever seen what was done at mvpmods to MVP Baseball regarding graphic and overlay updates? I can make the claim that it can be done in one day because I can do it in one day and I am not even a professional.

                          4) The patch has nothing to do with DLC. What difference does it make when it comes out? If it's so "easy" to make these unifiomrs in less than a day and all...it shouldn't take away AT ALL from work on the patch. So exactly what is your point on that?
The patch related to this DLC was not brought up by me but by someone else who asked how I knew they were working on this and not a patch. My response was "Due to the fact this is being released before a patch" proves to me that they were working on this before a patch that fixed the many gameplay problems in the game. A patch that adds superbowl and playoff art to the field in online franchise is not as important to me, or many many others here I'm sure, as fixing the flat patterns, franchise stats, pursuit angles, toe drag logic, challenges, etc. that are being fixed in a patch that is being worked on now.

                          Answer all your questions?

I was wondering the same thing. It's a cool idea, but if you can't turn it off it kind of defeats the purpose of playing throwback games in the year 2009 if the games look like they are happening in 1960.
