This is good news, but next year I am not buying this game until October at the earliest. Why pay full price when I can wait until the patches are out?

That's very rare. I guess the worker didn't give a damn, because usually if you ask to return opened software, they say "absolutely not- exchange only".

im still dig'n this game alot..had a blast last weekend with a bunch of my buddies over..some exciting games we had i must say. Game is solid, has issues, has bugs but its still FUN to play..to me thats the important thing.

Nevermind the sassy whiners around here..they are nothing but downers..plain and simple. They cant see the improvements made this year because they are too busy putting the game under the microscope instead of having fun with it...i'd hate to see what they really are like in real life circumstances geesh lol

Asking for perfection with a football game is nothing but a pipe dream but any patches that can help improve this game is greatly welcomed... :wink:

I hope patch 2 can make me want to play Madden again.
I love videogame football ... or at least I used to.

At the very least, I hope the CPU AI has been fixed - no more punts inside the 25, a sense of urgency when behind, a better two-minute warning, etc...

"Exchange for another game of equal or lesser value". That's what the store policy was. I like M10, otherwise I'd do it to.

I don't understand how some people don't see the difference between "broken" and "don't like it".

The HDTV scenario in an earlier post was way off. The example given that TV was broken and inoperable. Bad comparison. The comparison would be if you got the TV home, it worked, but you just didn't like the picture, or some of the features didn't work how you liked them.

I realize software isn't something that can be returned. Software is something that can be rented and tried first though. If you feel you are constantly burned year after year why would you not rent it before you buy it? If you were hit by a car crossing the street 1, 2, 3 or more times wouldn't you start looking before you crossed? Would you blame the drivers for your lack of due dilligence if you got hit again without looking first?

My point is the game is not broken. It is playable and that is a fact that cannot be disputed. There may be a few discs that were defective, but they can be exchanged. Another fact is many people aren't playing the game because it doesn't suit their needs for one reason or another. I can respect that. I am one of the people holding off on some things myself. Stop saying the game is broken. The game actually works just fine, however that doesn't mean you have to like it.

I would love for the game to be 100% rock solid for my tastes when it ships, but it didn't happen. Maybe the patch will help that. If not I still enjoy the game as best I can and hope for competition down the road.

Its a good think I didnt buy previous NG additions because it seems like the animosity is deep around here.

Some of you people are ungrateful bastards! Yes the game was not perfect when it was released and will never be perfect but hell we could be stuck with the game as is. So be happy we get the chance to download fixes that mainly come from our comments about the problems in the game.

the problem i have with madden patches is that in 2010 they seem to be fixing bugs/issues that should have bee sussed out in the second or third next gen installment. instead we are in the 6th year of next gen gaming and we are still "patching" fundamental things.

I understand the place that patching has in any software programming. but for a piece of software that gets released every year (with minimal base programming changes I might add) to have to "patch" the kinds of things that Madden patches.....EA's developers should just be flat out embarrased with some of the things that don't work with this game (why does the clock not stop after i am tackled 10 yards out of bounds???!!!!!!) . and from a consumer perspective its a major disappointment.
