Sane folks (the ones who don't moan about everything).... remember, the non-sane will always find something to gripe about.

If it was the best game ever, they would gripe it could be better.

If it was not patched, they would gripe about that.

If it is patched, they will gripe about that.

They just like to gripe.

After all, the world is perfect.... why can't a videogame be perfect? :wink: [this is called "sarcasm"]

All these people who are anti patch...I just want you to find me a perfect game that didnt need one..dont worry i'll wait.

for a game like madden that has an annual release i am definitely anti patch. the time they spend patching 2010 and band aid fixing the issues they could be game planning and creating more sustainable, concrete solutions for 2011. EA is finding themselves in a patch "do loop" which will keep them from ever getting around to releasing the best game possible.

The only patching they should be doing is to improve online play or things that improve the games performance (lag time/system slow down/loading errors). they SHOULD NOT still be making programming choices at this point in the game's life cycle.

the problem i have with madden patches is that in 2010 they seem to be fixing bugs/issues that should have bee sussed out in the second or third next gen installment. instead we are in the 6th year of next gen gaming and we are still "patching" fundamental things.

I understand the place that patching has in any software programming. but for a piece of software that gets released every year (with minimal base programming changes I might add) to have to "patch" the kinds of things that Madden patches.....EA's developers should just be flat out embarrased with some of the things that don't work with this game (why does the clock not stop after i am tackled 10 yards out of bounds???!!!!!!) . and from a consumer perspective its a major disappointment.

Exactly. What about CPU receivers with zero sideline awareness? You can't catch the ball five yards out of bounds, chief. The issue is never addressed. What about the fact that the CPU QB snaps the ball too quickly? They patched this in one of last year's updates, only to have the same problem this year out of the box. If you fix something, fine. But keep it fixed. That's all I ask. When the same issues that are discussed ad nauseum on the boards keep coming up every year, people tend to get a bit frustrated.

Same could be said for every current major sports game release. This is hardly a Madden only issue, even though people seem to make it out as one.

Just about everyone is patching games... not just the team that makes Madden.

In other news, morons would prefer no patch because a game is supposed to be picture perfect out of the gate.

Spoilers: no game, in this day and age, is perfect. Get over it. Take the patch. Be thankful EA even gives a **** to do it in the first place.

Glad games are able to be patched nowadays. What I don't understand is why 2k can get a patch out before EA. NBA 2k is set to be patched end of next week (two weeks after release) while Madden 10 took around six weeks after release to get the first patch.

I'll give the game another rental once the patch drops. Maybe ''adaptive ai'' will actually work this time around, and I might even........ lose a game to the CPU.

That's a big maybe the end of next week. It could be a month from now as well.

Also, basketball has 10 players on the court. Football has 22. A bit more complicated than hoops.

Some of you people are ungrateful bastards! Yes the game was not perfect when it was released and will never be perfect but hell we could be stuck with the game as is. So be happy we get the chance to download fixes that mainly come from our comments about the problems in the game.

I think you are forgetting who the consumer is here. We are the ones that have spent our hard earned money on this game. I should be grateful that I have to wait 2 -3 months to get a decent game??? THEY are lucky we buy their game with all the release day bugs. And if there was an alternative that was better, it wouldn't even be a decision.

I am glad they are releasing a patch, but I wouldn't say I am grateful.

I haven't had a chance to play the game since the first patch was released. I don't know how the 1st patch was, but I hope this one is the one that adds the stadium specific sounds. EA did a great job in NBA Live 10 in this area, best crowd atmosphere in a sports game ever!
