Anybody having trouble creating a player after recent roster update?
I play an offline franchise and usually have a create a player to progress with the chise after after update 6 I can't put a created player on any team it just doesn't show up anywhere on the team even if I clear roster space. Anyone else running into this?Tags: None -
Re: Anybody having trouble creating a player after recent roster update?
Roster updates don't alter anything that could cause such an issue... if you have the game installed on your HDD, you could have some data corruption, or even if you don't, your saves could be getting corrupted somehow. -

Thanks for the feedback guys, I don't have any idea what could be causing it. I redid my saves and just can't add a created player to any teamComment

Re: Anybody having trouble creating a player after recent roster update?
I'll try it out right now.
EDIT: Just tried it. I'm having the same problem. I created the player, saved him, and then went to the team that I put him on and he's not on the roster. Freaking. Awesome. Not that it really matters too much, but I was going to create a Junior Seau CAP and put him on the Patriots...guess I'm not doing that anymore.Last edited by z Revis; 10-09-2009, 02:12 PM.Indianapolis Colts

Re: Anybody having trouble creating a player after recent roster update?
It's definitely something with roster update 6. I just deleted the roster update and then restarted Madden. It loaded up the default rosters. I created a player and added him to the Colts and everything was fine. I then downloaded Roster Update 6 again, created a player, added him to the Colts and he wasn't on the Colts roster. Something got screwed up with Roster update #6.
Is it just me, or does it seem like everytime EA tries to fix something they end up screwing up something else?Indianapolis Colts

Re: Anybody having trouble creating a player after recent roster update?
That really truly makes no sense... the Roster update has no effect on the game itself.
Then again, I guess it doesn't have to in this case because neither do created players.
The original Roster uploaded to the servers would in itself have to be corrupt for this to happen. If that's the case, then this issue could very well occur.
Edit: I'm not home right now so I can't test this for myself but I thought of something that may work.
Download the online roster.
Create a second save file with the backup roster, and name it whatever you want.
Try putting the created player on the second save and see if it works.
I'm thinking that if the original online file itself is corrupt, then re-saving it on a fresh file might function properly. They also might have tampered with the file to stop a potential file-swapping exploit with the online rosters.Last edited by Poetique; 10-09-2009, 03:26 PM.Comment

Re: Anybody having trouble creating a player after recent roster update?
Sounds like the latest roster update took up all the free roster spots. What you're describing is what happens when you run out of free spots for create-a-players. The cap is usually 15+ (depends n who you ask). So unless you already have that many, it means that either EA messed up or your system is messed up. Either way EA should be informed of the potential problem.Comment

Why were we allowed to create 40 or so on last gen? Rosters were not expanded so what's the deal now?GT: Herkyalert
